My EV parks at the back of my yard and I needed a charge installation that would be exposed to the elements. My electrician ran a 240v line along my fence and I did the rest. After deciding on the charge setup (Grizzl-E classic), I needed a weatherproof outlet box. With so many choices, I picked this one for the solid construction, weather resistance, screw-on "knockouts" and dimensions that would fit my charger's plug. It did not disappoint! This is a very heavy duty box, is well-sealed, and installation was straightforward. It has been in use for almost 6 months now in an exposed location and has met my needs. One caveat for EV use as you can read online and in some of the reviews is that the outlet itself is pretty basic, and isn't really designed for high-current continuous use. This is true of all boxes like this, however. In the future, I may install a heavy-duty outlet into this box, but took a chance with it for now since I only charge my EV every few weeks (don't drive much living in a city), and I run a max charge current of 32A since I have only a 40A breaker. If you charge your EV daily, I'd still recommend this box, but upgrade the outlet as some others have done.

Very sturdy box, easy to wire, has 3 different accurately sized hole adapters included. Very good price, but door has no built-in way to remain open. Most difficult part of install was figuring out a way to prop the door open.

I usually use another brand but the quality on this is far superior. Love the pre sized knock out plates. And the mini lock is a nice touch.

Very stout enclosure and will last. Does exactly what I need for a 50amp. generator input. Now the bad news.....1) If working with big wire (mine was 6/3) you are in for a job. Not a lot of room in rear of box for manipulation.2) The front cover does not stay in the up position. This creates a hassle while installing/connection if you are by yourself.3) The 2 retaining screws that hold the front plate in place are TOO SMALL !! (this is inside the box with little room to work your fingers)4) As others have said, the punch outs are not punch outs. Get read to drill, cut, Dremel or whatever. Metal is thick and tough too.5) If you are not mechanically/electrically inclined, not good at trouble shooting/alterations or have the tools, this is not the box for you. Also, if big wire is your plan you better be willing to spend some time making this work.With all that being said, this box is one tough SOB and should last forever !! You just pay the price upfront. I am satisfied and I recommend if you're up to the task !! Don't say you weren't warned......

The way in which the face plate attaches makes it challenging to install using small gauge wire (6- 4 AWG). You must slide the lid up under a tab and back and then attach it with screws. It is challenging to bend the wires and push the lid on with 4 small gauge wires attached. designs where the cover simply screws on and is not retained by a tab feature would be much easier to install. Aside from that the quality seems good.

No where for water to get into this one. Very sturdy and even came with a little lock. It's much larger than the other one I had but set up was easy and it works great so far.

This is a very sturdy receptacle box.However, it does require that you have a punch out tool or step drill is what I used for the wiring and conduit nut.As well the tiny machine screws holding the inside plate are ridiculously small, so plan to open those holes up and rethread them, well at least that's what I did.Otherwise it's a strong well sealed box

Had a hookup for an RV and was perfect. With interchangeable plates and a built-in weatherproof gasket it made the install extremely easy. The 30A plug was pre -wired for ground and the Phillips screws were solid. No stripping. Easy access and a solid product. Will definitely use this again.Not to slag on other products but I have used a couple of companies whose box have "knockouts" but when I received the product had found that there was no actual knockout to be had. It was part of the metal and wasn't prepped to knock out. These plates made the job so easy.
