I really like this concept. If you have a powered RV, then you have a box full of adapters and cords. I am no exception. This unit gives me two functions for less than I spent on a 30/50 adapter and separate surge protector/analyzer and saves me a little space. I only have to keep up with this one device. If I get another one that is a 50/30 then I can get rid of 4 different adapters and protectors. Combining the surge protector, circuit breaker, and 30/50 adapter in one unit is a great idea. The connector ends are very solid and mate tightly. General overall construction is good and the seems are tight. The body is secured by 4 washer head screws and that implies to me that it is possible to open it and replace a surge protector or CB if you take a hit. Many don't let you do this. The LEDs on the front give a good indication of any faults on the prime power and the CB stem is also easy to see. For the price, this is a real bargain. There are only two things I would like to see changed. First, I think the surge rating should be increased to 5KJ or better instead of 3600J. The other is the addition of a lock ring on the unit so you can secure it to the power pedestal with a lock.

Being able to combine a dog-bone 50 to 30 and a decent surge protector (with troubleshooting lights) into a single unit makes a lot of sense. We removed a couple of of devices and replaced them with this.Construction seems to be really good, heavy duty in all the right places.I do wish they would include a cover to go over the 30amp plug that would waterproof the joint between the 30 amp connection and your campers shore power cord 30 amp plug. The way most pedestals are designed, the connection between the 2 30 amp plugs is exposed to rain, snow, mud, dust, etc. It would be nice to have a small clamp on housing to protect that connection as well. I have made one for our needs, but it would be nice for a company to include that as part of the dog-bone packaging.
