MEISTERKUGELN are one of the only good pellets for accuracy in an air gun. There are many other so called "Premium" options out there. I personally like Superdome's as well, but after speaking with some professional target shooters (one gentleman who has won 1,000 yard competitions in the U.S. [not with pellets, obviously]) MEISTERKUGELN's are one of the few Solid options for accuracy and consistency. I've heard that competitive pellet shooters pick through even the best brands and only use hand-selected pellets that they feel are molded "just right." Out of this 250 pack, they might only find 10 or 20 they really like. That being said, these pellets are awesome. Sure they might not have ballistic tips or any weird fancy "tech," but they work well. The flat face makes them look unimpressive, but you have to get past that. Drop one in and see for yourself, MEISTERKUGELN's are one of the best. And the price isn't too bad either. Please read and understand the different cal. sizes. Your average Red Rider is shooting .177 BB's. These are .22 and you wouldn't believe how much more Massive they are. There are other sizes as well. You may run into .20 cal on a Benjamin rifle, and I know I've seen .25. Please read your manual and know your rifle.A few side notes:- I personally shoot with a RWS Diana .22. Not the best rifle out there, but one of the best for it's price range.- If you have the option to use a rifle where the barrel is stable and the cocking mechanism is on the side or below, DO THIS. The fact that the barrel doesn't move will improve and maintain accuracy and allow your scope to stay centered without constant adjustments. Even though it's very minute, my breakaway barrel (to cock the gun) does slightly effect the scope accuracy.- If you use a scope, please make sure it's rated for an air gun. Believe it or not, an air rifle will ruin a nice scope faster than mag rounds or a shotgun. It has to do with the forward, backward and even circular recoil produced by the spring power. Thanks for reading and have a great day - Brandon

I am shooting with a Stoeger X20S air gun .22 cal and a decent variable power scope. I have access to a short range indoor range. My main target in the real world is rabbit. The Umarex Meisterkugein Pellets are the ONLY pellet I have been able achieve the accuracy I need. I have expended hundreds of rounds with two other Umarex pellets namely the Superpoint Extra and the Super H-Point. For whatever reason there is a rather large and noticeable difference between the round that works and the two that don't. How do I explain it? Frankly I can't.The Meisterkugein Pellet can be so consistent and so accurate that it keeps me sane. The other two Umarex rounds in my particular rifle are several inches to the left and not in a decent pattern. If I could explain it I would be a happy camper. I have spent hours plinking away at targets and then the local rabbit population.Because I so wanted the two hunting rounds to work I kept at it and at it. The problem is one of consistency and accuracy.I eventually just gave in to the accuracy and consistency of the Meisterkugein pellet. My fear was that it would not be effective on rabbits. Fortunately the accuracy is such that headshots are my normal aiming point and the Meisterkugein pellet is absolutely effective. Generally speaking it's instant death usually preceded by a leap in the air. The rabbit is dead when he hits the ground. With the other two rounds I could not count on the shot being placed properly and so I was reverting to body shots which often resulted in less than acceptable results. On the indoor range I am able to use a bench rest so the crosshairs can be held perfectly still and my trigger is a custom two stage so I can take up the slack and know exactly when the air gun will shoot. I feel like I have removed as much of the variables as possible and simply put there is no comparison between these three pellets other than the Super H-Point and the Superpoint Extra tend to consistently be to the left and yet not in a tight enough pattern to give me the confidence required for hunting. Five or six rounds fired with the Meisterkugein at a target and the grouping is so tight that you have to tape over the hole or change the target because after that the pellets will just be going into the hole. I would never have believed that the pellet itself especially from the same manufacturer could be so different in consistency and accuracy. The only other time I have ever seen so much difference is with a .308 Win round between different manufacturers. There you get what you pay for and Hornady outshines cheaper bullets to the point that I quit shooting anything else. Perhaps the air gun itself has a preference but frankly I have to come believe that the Meisterkugein is simply a superior pellet even though it is the same manufacturer and all three are made in Germany. If I have a wish it would be that I could find a hunting pellet with the accuracy of the Meisterkugein.

After trying a variety of pellets in my Crosman 2289, I was still very disappointed by poor groupings. I tried several brands of domed pellets, including JSBs and Crosman Premier. Groups from both were just not good enough, so I decided to give wadcutters a shot. I know wadcutters aren't traditionally a hunting pellet, but for close range, small stuff I was willing to try. Many of the pest control shots I take with my 2289 are under 10 meters, and almost always under 15, and wadcutters are designed to maximize accuracy at 10 meters or so.Update: After shooting three full tins through my 2289, I am completely sold on these. They are all I use in my 2289 now. Groups with my Crosman are under 1/2" at 10m, with only an occasional flyer. I can't recall seeing a single deformed pellet in the tins I've used (definitely can't say that for Premier or JSB Exacts, unfortunately). Umarex clearly produces a high quality product with excellent quality control. (Limitation to this review: As you know, each air rifle seems to prefer a specific pellet brand, so I'm not suggesting this pellet will work as well for every rifle.)Surprisingly, I've also found penetration on small game (pest birds) to be more than sufficient. These things hit hard, generally over-penetrating. Even if they don't overpenetrate, you can reasonably expect them to put all that energy into your target.I still use domed pellets for longer-range shooting with my Gamo or Marauder, but for anything that is relatively close (and small), I am completely sold on the Umarex Meisterkugeln. Those Germans really do know how to make effective ordnance!
