As a mechanic, you need specialized tools for certain jobs. I don’t do air drums often but I needed a a set of slack adjusters for occasional use. These have worked perfectly for me.If you’re going to do slack adjusters every day, then maybe invest in the tool truck ones. But for occasional use, a good choice.

The tool broke on the first slack adjuster I worked on. It broke apart, and I wasn’t able to use it at all.

Ratchet didn’t last 2 weeks but the release tool held up so far. Kinda pricey for what you get honestly.

The little pawl that locks the wheel from spinning left or right sheared off first time I used it. I was stuck and couldn’t back off the brake shoes. I was fortunate enough to have a set of vise grips with me, spread the tool apart so I could remove the wheel and clamped onto the wheel ( it’s pretty tuff unlike the rest of the tool) and was able to back off the slack adjuster. Tbf I also out of some strange luck had a 8pt 5/16 (3/8 drive craftsman brand) socket on me and it busted it to.
