Can use 18volt battery or included electric cable to operate.can suck up water from at least ten foot down with included five ft hose and additional five foot garden hose.a bit noisy squill when operating.also will go into overload mode and shut off if it loses water suction .then have to wait to restart. I would recommend using a foot valve 3/4 inch (anti siphon valve) attached to bottom of hose to keep intake hose from losing suction when changing batteries.

I knocked a star down because how loud this is, I mean it is not unbearable, at least for most people that work with tools, but it has a whirring noise that I'm not sure if comes from the motor or the impeller. It is not that fast or strong, so don't expect to move a lot of water fast, but does the job (15ft of lift and 50 ft of head as especs) I got water from my parking spot (truck) to my apartment 2nd floor with the pump down, pushing the water and with the pump upstairs lifting the water with no problems (pump needs to be primed). Now for that you need a non collapsible hose (rigid) if not you only will be able to push water. I throw away the lift hose (in let) that came with it, I used bilge hose for both ends with plastic couplings from Home Depot (for lighter and better set up. This pump for the price is great, if you don't see yourself carrying buckets of water this is it, although not perfect its versatile, been able to run continuously with 120v or with 18v battery.(4ah or greater recommended) as long as 30 min or 40 min, maybe a bit more. Now with the AC power supply and an inverter from your vehicle you can run it for long time, even more if engine running, and it doesn't need to be connected to the power grid. Now you know the good and the bad! On the side note, this item is been discontinued, so you will see less and less of them. They been replaced by one that it's slightly "better" faster and not sure what else! But it comes only with a 2ah battery (not enough power) which is doesn't make sense since this isn't a hybrid (no able to be used on 120V ac) and if you only need this tool from Ryobi it doesn't justify buying a bigger amp battery and not using the one provided. So the adapter (power Supply) that came with the old tool adds even greater value to this set since you can use other 18v tools (not any 18v tool, just the ones that use low peak/continue amperage, do research) with timeless power from your 120v outlet. This sure will need some adapters and fabrication and will void warranty and it's not encourage by manufacturer, but so you know.

I live on a long, narrow property that fronts a lake. My house is at the other end of the property (above the flood plain) over 1,000 feet from the lake. I looked into installing a lake pump for irrigation, but it would be cost prohibitive to run electricity and water lines 1,000 feet from the house to the lake.I use this pump to fill a 500-liter portable storage tank in the back of my truck, drive it to an elevated 750-gallon storage tank by my house, pump the water from the portable tank to the storage tank, then make another 5 round trips until the storage tank is full. Using Ryobi 6Ah batteries, I can fill and empty the tank in about 50 minutes on one battery with a couple of bars to spare, swap out the battery for a charged one, put the used battery on my charger, and make round trip another trip.I use the pump for over 5 hours in a day (25 minutes of continuous use each time I fill and empty the portable tank) with no problems.

We use this for camping! So nice!! The creek we drink from is potable water right out of a spring. This makes it so much easier to fill our trailer water tank! Much better than packing 5-gallon jugs. It pumps about 3 gallons per minute with an 18-foot pick up hose and 100' of hose off the outlet. For best results, do not use one of those lightweight expansion hoses on the outlet (inlet too since it will collapse). The pump does not have the pressure to properly expand the hose. If you do this, you will only get about a gallon per minute. Been there done that!

Got this to refill my rv water tank when we are boondocking. Works pretty well and is fast. A little bit loud but every pump I’ve used like this is pretty loud. Try not to run it dry and it’ll last a long time.

Bombea bien el agua de albercas y de depósitos, pero es lento y muy ruidoso. Si lo usas con baterÃa no suelen durar demasiado aún con las baterÃas especiales

Am glad my husband bought the water pump, it’s easy for me to use to watering our lawn and plants instead of the traditional way. The only downside it’s a bit noisy.Otherwise it is a good product

I’m using this to transfer drinking water from an 8 gallon jug into the fresh water tank in my trailer. Can of course be used with the provided power supply but just easier with a battery.
