I thought this was better than described and for the money, very nice. I do stage broadsword combat instruction and I'm now expanding my lighter swords a bit. This is not one of those flimsy hollow blades, but solid and sturdy.

The Sabre looks beautiful, holds strong yet feels light. It came with an extra blade which is an excellent plus.

Works well, haven't broke a blade in almost a year of having it, electricity runs through it perfectly.

The blade is a Chinese equivalent, but it has held up well so far. I participated in a novice tournament with this weapon, and won with it. It feels just a bit blade heavy, but manageable. The thumb pad is felt, which I prefer. The socket was stiff and held the prongs securely with excellent contact. Assembly is very tight. I've been unable to unscrew the pommel by hand, and I consider that a plus. As I said, the blade survived a 5 person novice tournament for a total of 4 pool bouts and 2 DEs (50 points total). It now has nicks and battle damage on the blade and guard, but nothing more than scratches and small burrs. Nothing a light blade sanding can't remove. The extra blade adds a bit of longevity to the weapon if one blade becomes far too damaged. I would not use this in a tournament where both participants strike hard. I don't yet trust the blade's durability against high speed impact.

Although the strength seemed fine, we couldn't figure out how to keep the blades from rusting.
