I use this on gravel paths and old brickwork to freshen it up once a year. I like the look of a little moss and age on old brickwork but not so much that the brick is damaged or slippery. This does a good job, without scrubbing, with the 'jet' setting on a hose nozzle, to remove outer moss and thin layers of moss from buildings. If I wanted to take off all the moss, I would need a brush and maybe would need to treat it twice but I know it would work. It does an even better job dissolving moss from gravel paths. I don't even have to do more than rinse it off after it sits 15-20 minutes. In some areas I don't rinse and it looks fine. Does not discolor anything. On brick ground gutters it can leave a film if not rinsed off. Safe for the grass. I don't treat the grass but I feel better using a product that won't hurt the grass if I get it on it. I do try to remember to rinse it off the grass after it sits a while.

I ordered the Safer Brand Moss and Algea killer to kill Algea growing on part of the North facing roof of our home. First I washed the area with a pressure washer which washed away most of these algeas. I then used this product to kill any of the residual algeas close to the roof flashing. I did use the product on a day when the temperature was 65 degrees or higher. It did not show much of a difference. A few days later when I was looking at that section of the roof it still looked green.I will try it again in late spring next year to see if it produces any better result.One generous application should have done the job!Not very pleased.I repeated the application again in June 2012 and am happy to say that the moss spray worked like a wonder. The moss growing on the roof facing north is now completely dead!A vigorous shaking of the bottle is required and there is a little push button next to the spray gun which must be completely pushed out. I will give it a 5 star rating!

The results are only mediochre and a white residue was left in places which was hard ot get rid of.

I like that this product is not environmentally toxic, so what that means is it takes several applications to get rid of roof moss. I applied it last fall, and I'd say it reduced the moss by 50% by this spring. I'd rather have to do repeat applications than poison the Earth. Very easy to attach to hose and spray.

This review asks that I discuss thickness and warmth (🤡) however the Safer Brand Moss and Algae spray does not possess these traits. It is easy to use, effective and safer for the environment and humans than most other brands. I highly recommend this product if you are trying to eliminate moss, lichen or algae from your house exterior. I am a repeated user of this product because it works.

On one hand, it works. On lawns, it selectively kills moss; the moss turns light brown and can be raked. On the other hand, it leaves a potassium salt residue on everything. This is easy to wash off grass but on stone I have to get a power washer to remove the salt. I'm using iron-based killers now.

This worked great for our roof in the mossy Pacific NW. What we did was apply it one day, leave it on to soak in, then rinse it off the next day. That seemed to do the trick, although was a little time consuming. Although this stuff is less toxic than most of the alternatives, it's still unpleasant to breathe in and is slippery on the roof, so I recommend washing it off.
