On our second child and this is our go to brand. Love the extendable part on top, along with the ease of buckling our daughter in. Worth it.

Ordered and had to return as mom and granddaughter needed to have the same base in their cats. This was an extremely nice car seat, would loved to have kept it!!!!

This was a baby shower gift for my niece. Her baby is now 6 months old and I can truly rate this seat. It is great! It has worked amazing for her baby girl. It is a comfortable seat fo r the baby. It was easy to assemble. The material is sturdy and fabric is soft. We haven't had any issues at all.
Bewildered.

This car seat has a lot of neat features for sure. It has a base that comes equipped with anchors that are spring return, much like a seat belt. They have their own slots to secure into when not in use, so you don't have anchors swinging around getting in the way if you're not using them. If you are using the anchors, once these are secured and the base tightened down as it should be, there is a locking lever that locks the anchor belts in place, so they are unable to loosen, much like the lock on a seat belt. There is a pressure indicator on the base that shows green when the base is tightened down enough. Also, the option to use a seat belt to secure the base is available. There are instructions on the base itself for both uses. The latch and release mechanism on the car seat is easy to use. It is pretty much like any other car seat in how the 5 point harness system works, and for loosening/tightening of the baby's straps. The hood is nifty, in that there is a zippered mesh extension in it that allows more coverage on the car seat, without trapping to much heat. The only downside of the hood is that it is so stiff it takes both hands to pull it forward - you won't be doing it one-handed without it snapping. Maybe that will loosen up, but I doubt it.There's a good amount of padding around the belts n such for an infant, but I must say, once they're big enough to not neat all that cradle padding, the cover on the frame of the car seat itself is a little thin and doesn't afford much cushion.

Dug into my newborns legs and started crying really bad. Couldn't get it right enough and just an overall bad design for the price. Strap covers are too thick too. The whole car seat is terrible now I have to waste my time returning in a black trash bag since I threw away the box before my newborn got here. Other safety 1st car seats don't have the buckles look like the one on this one

Anyone who has had to tote around a little knows the terror of just having them fall asleep as you reach your destination. Only for you to need to take them out of the car seat right away. The new design of these car seats with bases is a lifesaver in these situations. This Safety First model has been reliable and easy to place and remove out of the base, and the base itself is pretty easy to install after reading the plentiful instructions. The anchors have a seatbelt esque design where they utilize a push button release. This is better that the traditional hook design, but I found they require a bit more force to remove than I felt is comfortable for regular movements of the base. The seat itself is made well, and the materials seem fairly moisture and stain resistant. Which makes cleanup a breeze. The fake leather on the handle is a nice addition that doesn't go unappreciated, although only time will tell as to it's longevity. The awning is moisture resistant as well, which helps if you get caught out in a bit of a drizzle. It holds its position firmly, so you don't need to worry about small bumps or breezes exposing your little to the sun.The height adjustment is the more standard method, which is to say you need to completely undo the straps and re-rount them through the desired holes. This isn't an issue most of the time, as you generally only need to adjust them as the child grows. But in the event that you have multiple children of different sizes that will need to take turns using this car seat (for ex. A grandparent of multiple littles) the height adjustment mechanism is rather time and effort consuming, and I wouldn't recommend planning to do so on the fly.

This car seat is geared toward the youngest/smallest end of the infant range, you need to keep in mind the weight rating is for 4-30 lbs and less than 32". Meaning that the babies will outgrow this easily and you will need something else beyond that. If nothing else, the shade frame sticks out beyond the padded headrest area so it will become very uncomfortable for the kids once their head reaches this stage. The main handle feels like you need 3 arms to adjust but the key is to unlock each side with each hand and rotate with both at the same time. Overall construction is ok, not the most robust and rigid car seat I've seen. The main latch/release mechanism is ok but I would not want to push the limits of durability necessarily. The plus side of the gray color is that it's very gender-neutral and can be passed on to others when the pre-toddler is ready to move to something bigger. Important to keep in mind this is basically only for rear seat, rear-facing install only.
