I always look for American made products, especially when it comes to automotive parts. Gates has a quality reputation for a reason, American made products of high quality. And at a very good price. I'm sure you could find a foreign made hose for a bit less, but your going to replace that hose WAY before you replace this Gates product. If you have ever had any measurable amount of time handling and using rubber(insert dirty joke/comment here) then you know that not only are there very different grades but that you can feel if it's good rubber or not when you touch it and see how it moves. This hose is very flexible but also with some rigidity. It does resist kinking very well but is very easy to maneuver around your engine bay. Fantastic product and keeps us Americans working.

Gates has been around FOREVER and still makes high quality products. Why chance it for some no-name knock-off import that costs the same as Gates quality?

Had a coolant line burst on my Ram 3500 in the middle of the night when I was out of town and in the middle of nowhere, when I got back I bought this to keep in my truck in case it happens again. I only needed about a foot but have this in my truck in case it ever happens again.

Since the product description provides no details of the sizing and type of Gates hose, here is what you need to know. I was able to cross reference a product number in the description to make sure I was ordering a 6 foot piece of 19mm / 3/4", Gates 3270 Safety Stripe hose.

A good quality hose none the less. Under normal conditions, this hose should work fine. Server use you should maybe get Gates green stripe heavy duty hose.And thanks to the customer that had the good sense to put up pictures of the package label showing the length. The Q&A for the 5/8 hose showed length from 5 to 25 feet. When there is a doubt, just think that you're not going to buy Gates, Made in USA heater hose for $0.36 per foot in 2016.The description should be worked on. Not only does it show the dimensions of the bag the item is in, but also the origin as "China". And I don't think they mean China, Texas. According to the label on the bad, item number 28492 is six feet and Made in USA.

Great brand, good quality product. Used this for a heat exchanger installation on my Audi. Good for radiator temps, easy to cut and very thick. It has a 3/4 ID so the OD won’t fit a 3/4 hose clamp so be weary and buy something a little bigger. One thing about functionality that I didn’t like was that it doesn’t bend well so it’s easy to kink the hose or fold it over if your angle is too aggressive. If you do have some big turns get a L connecting barb fitting and save your self the future headache of a pinched hose.

This can't be a gates product. Their hoses are usually great quality with thick side walls. This is very cheaply made, thin walls and won't bend without kinking. Be cautious what you're using this for. I don't recommend for automotive use.
