My apartment has wood floors, so I wanted to get a mat for my chair that would not only protect my floor but also lessen the noise for my downstairs neighbor. This thing is great! It cut the rolling noise to almost zero because it is a carpet quality. It comes with a "sticky" side - which isn't really sticky at all - that keeps it from bunching up when you roll across it. The only downside is that hair (human and dog) sticks to it a little, but that's basically any carpet-like material, so I'm not upset about it. You just have to vacuum it.UPDATE: it's now been over a year since I bought this mat and it is going STRONG. In fact, I came here to write a glowing review, having forgotten that I'd already done so! After a year of working from home 5 days a week and rolling my office chair around, it still looks and works as if new. I also adopted a cat a couple months ago and she loves it! She can scratch at it and it shows little sign of wear. She loves to sprint across the room and skid to a stop on it and it's held up well so far. It's still flat on the edges and sticking to the floor as it should. I've also moved it a few times and it's still working great. Overall: buy this if you need a mat for your floor! In terms of usefulness, practicality, and cost, it might be the best thing I've ever purchased off Amazon. They didn't even pay me to say that!

I bought a competing brand that didn't last more then 3 months. It came folded and the creases never came out. After about 90 days it started to fray on the edges and completely break down. This one is a huge improvement. Since it was shipped rolled it was extremely easy to install and lay completely flat. After 4 months of use it still looks great with no signs of wear and tear. It definitely pays to spend a little more for a better quality product.

I looked for the highest rated mat that worked with hile pile carpet. I found a great one! My boys' bedrooms have high pile carpet. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a mat that would stay in place. This is it! We used hand held weights to hold the edges down for a day or so because it wanted to curl back up into the rolled fashion it was sent in. We've removed the weights now and they both are working great!

The adhesive is surprisingly strong - when I went to remove this one to replace it with a larger mat, it tore a panel of my laminate floor right up with it. No, I didn't Hulk yank it; I was pulling steadily and slowly. Moral of the story: hardwood and linoleum is probably fine but don't put this thing on laminate flooring unless you intend never to move/remove it.Despite the fact that you need a jackhammer to remove this thing, the edges will quickly rumple and curl on you if you find yourself rolling your chair off and back onto it. I replaced this with a larger mat because I underestimated how much distance I crossed moving forward toward my desk or backward away from it when I stood up. The 55" edge was perfect for the width of it, plenty of room for side to side movement, but 35" was just too short to have enough of it up under the desk to compensate for scooting up to the desk without rolling off the mat, or to have enough behind me to keep from scooting off the mat when I went to get up. You DO NOT want to be rolling on and off this mat - it gets very frustrating very fast having it rumple up in the wheels/legs of your chair. I went ahead and upgraded to a 55"x51" and I am very happy. Now to fix my floor =(

For starters, it arrived utterly filthy and covered in dog or cat hair as if this was returned and resold or just chilled unboxed on a warehouse floor for weeks. It's rolled up tight and doesn't unroll - a single person can't do it. You need to have at least 3 people - 2 to unroll a side and hold and 1 to weigh the corners. It must have sat in a box under extreme heat because it's basically solidified in rolled form. I've weighed it down for 24 hours and STILL it won't stay flat. The cheap material is extremely riddled with static so it's difficult to even clean. The spikes are obscenely sharp (the bloody holes in my fingers unrolling this can attest) to the point I have concern it will rip up my carpet. The pictures of the product all appear to be photoshops or computer generated images. The actual product is not nearly as neutral and sleek as the images suggest. It's an extremely glossy and cheap looking plastic. It's yet to flatten and I am already shopping for something else. I am just now seeing tons of recent reviews with the same issues. No idea why such con of a product is allowed to be sold.DO. NOT. BUY.

I bought this about 4 years ago. Not sure if the product has changed since then, but it's been solid for me. I initially didn't realized the film was supposed to be removed. So 4 years in, I finally removed the film and it sticks to the floor very well. (not so much prior to film removal) It's not sticky like tape, it's sticky like on of those rubber window stickers. You probably need a semi-smooth floor for it to work. Mines installed on faux wood laminate with medium texture and it sticks well. I bought this because the hard chair wheels crack the laminate panel edges, solved that problem. The rug material, for me, hasn't degraded at all. I don't have cats or dogs so it's seen only chair wheels. Some reviews are saying the underside removed floor finish. IMO it appears that the foamy pad actually ripped off of the mat an stayed on the wood floor. A little goo gone would take that up no problem. The rug is super low pile, similar to what you would find on some pretty cheap, thin carpet. It's a chair mat so that's not really an issue.

keeps my feets from the cold floor, easy to vacuum and doesn't need to be put in hot water like some other product I won't mention.

Works just as described - make sure the floor is well cleaned before laying it out and it adheres very securely. Time will tell about durability but it seems sturdy so far

The mat arrived folded tightly into squares (not rolled as advertised) and the mat has retained these multiple creases even after being lain flat. It had a very strong chemical smell initially but this has subsided. This is the sort of items that needs to be rolled for despatch as advertised. This seller needs to be removed from the marketplace.

The actual product is fit for a small cat to use - it is only 17 * 11 inches. Do not trust this seller or buy their products.
