Your hand stays out of the ice. It’s formed to pour out like a funnel.I scoop ice daily for my job. In all my years 30+ , this is the best scoop I’ve used.

Purchased this large scoop and the smaller for our ice machine at work. The smaller one is the perfect size for general use, and our employees like the hand guard feature. The larger scoop is perfect for those rare occasions when we need to fill a cooler with ice. I ordered a spare of each, but haven't needed to use them as these have held up well under daily use.

This large scoop works perfectly in my small ice factory. Purchased this almost one year ago and have used it to bag thousands of bags of ice and it is still going strong. The hand guard is a plus since the ice does not come in contact with your hands.
