I knew the measurements when I ordered the flask, but sometimes the reality isn't obvious until you hold it in your hand. This flask is big enough for everything from small pendants to chunky ingots, and stout enough to shrug off any errant hammer blow when ramming the sand. I do recommend some small screw clamps to hold the flask shut while doing large castings, but that's just the nature of two-part flasks, and nothing at all wrong with this model. I may well get a second for multi-pour sessions!

I can not believe how well this did. My wife found this arrowhead and wanted me to make a silver cast of it. I have never made a casting but this was only my second attempt. You be the judge… did it turn out ok? I am so happy. High quality! And you can reuse the clay!!!!

It holds the sand, but it did seperate when metal was poured in. Probably user error.

Arrived fast. good quality, only issue is you dont know what line of petrobond your getting is it 140/190? donno. the steel mold is well constructed. will buy again

the flask is HALF the size as the one shown in the picture. The one in the picture has 4 pegs to hold the flask together. The one you receive has 2 and is only 4 3/4" tall. There is only one place that give the correct dimensions of the flask. The dimensions given are for the block of sand. Do NOT spend your money on this product. Buy the sand and flask separately, unless a 4 3/4" flask and 10lbs of sand cost more separately. I had specific projects in mind for this and now I have to either buy or make a new flask.

Sand is great and works perfect but it’s obvious not fresh/new sand as there is clear signs of metal and burnt sand still in the bag
