This is by far the best vacuum we had, you can literally see the dirt and dust in the canister and in the filter. It kept suctioning all the trapped dirt in the carpet when we vacuum every 3 days and thats the dirt that we inhale. All the other brand names doesn't even compare to what this vacuum can do. The motor is strong and hair doesn't get stuck to the brush so we don't have to worry about cleaning it to pick up dirt. We have 4 air filters already but since we live in LA and have carpet, there's just too much dirt and pollution and this vacuum does a phenomenal job!

This review is for the Sanitaire EUK5745B Hepa Upright Vacuum. The difference is the A or B at the end. For some reason when I go to my order history, it shows the EUK5745A even though I bought the B version. The good things are obviously the long cord, you only need to plug it in one or two times and get to most of the house. The second good feature is you don't have to deal with bags--it's easy to empty. The only hassle is shaking and pulling hair off the filter. The suction power is pretty dang good. There are three cats, and three girls in the house with long hair. Let me tell you, it picks up everything. Of course you will have to clean the spinner on the bottom as with any vacuum. You can adjust the height which is an awesome feature. I don't use it on hard surfaces, so I cannot tell you how well it works. The hose isn't too bad. Suction is good, sometimes falls off if you don't evenly space the hose (it's heavier but durable hose). Customer service is nice, I called because I forgot to put a couple screws in during assembly and the handle kept falling off, and they sent me the correct parts for no charge.For the cons, which isn't much, is that it's a bit heavy and loud. I always wear ear plugs for loud appliances inside or out, so it's not an issue. Toddler sleeps through it because it's white noise. If you're older or have shoulder/rotator cuff issues, I wouldn't recommend this vacuum.Something to remember, replace the belt every few months, depending on use. I went over two years without changing it, and I noticed when I saw it was barely picking up anything. The belt is easy to access. There are three screws on top of the red cover, two in front, one in the back (right side looking down from the back). You'll have to take the spindle out, make sure you put it back in the same way. I got away with changing the filter after a year, I recommend every 6 months depending on use. You can only shake it so many times. I have the links for the filter and belt below.Overall, I would recommend this vacuum. I use it about once a week, and have never had any mechanical issues. Three months old and it's headed for the dump. Bought this three months ago after previously having both Dyson and Shark brands. Used every other day in a home with two dogs. It worked great for about two weeks. Then the HEPA filter kept falling off. Okay, break out the duct tape and tape that on. Then about a month in it quit picking up just about everything. Now we take it apart, the suction is good all the way to the end. Brush is fine and working, somewhere, somehow the suction dissipates so much under the machine it won't pick up anymore. Another over priced piece of plastic crap vacuum.

This vacuum goes to show that you can solid performance that meets and exceeds more expensive machines at a respectable price. When I was shopping for a vacuum, there were a few things that I was looking for that make a vacuum work: 1) vacuum itself and the airflow so CFM, 2) maintenance, and 3) cord length.This machine rates at 135 CFM which is the amount of air being ran through the motor, cubic feet per minute. More is better when cleaning, but more can also mean louder. From using this machine, I feel the noise is very acceptable at 69 dbm.For a family with carpeted stairs, the attachments are almost necessary, which was also something considered. The cord length is enough to take from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor safely.The end result is that this is a good machine that cleans well, to the point where my family saw a noticeable different from our prior vacuum that needed to be replaced. I would say that this vacuum has the potential to be one of the best vacuums I have had so far, yet that is a test of time. As with any machine, proper care and maintenance will determine how efficient the machine will work. Nothing has stood out as of yet regarding poor gaskets or filters, yet it is something time will tell.

I'm not too happy with this vacuum. It has a hard time sucking up things from hard surfaces, works decent on carpet. And the hose tends to fall out of the hole often and now has stretched out to the point most of it hangs low getting in the way. It seems a bit louder, and when i turn you can hear the wheels having trouble with turns. If this were a home product I wouldn't care as much, but I use this at many different buildings. I feel this was not a good choice and soon enough I will need to switch it out for something better.

It is great. I use it at my office. It is a very nice and powerful vacuum for not a huge price. The suction is terrific, sometimes it's hard to hold it back!

So I hate to leave negative reviews but my office cleaning lady hates this vacuum - she says its too heavy and her arms - neck and back hurt when she is done - and she says it is really challenging and awkward to change the bag. Well I have not tried it but she begged me to return it after the first time she used it - I asked the company if they would take it back and they said no not after it has been used... So I just thought I would share this info. Sorry Sanitaire. However, the suction is great and it does operate as advertised. We use it in a very busy office and it does a good job. I guess the only cons are the comments my cleaning lady has said about it. UPDATE: I have to add to this because, although I won't change the fact that my cleaning lady still hates this vacuum, I will admit that this company who sold this has good customer service. Although they would not let me return it after one use, it did break after about 8 months or so, (I think it was just the belt) and the man who owns the company drove out to our office and fixed it for us for free then delivered it back to us and included a few new belts for us to have on hand. I think he was trying very hard to make us happy and it was lucky that his office isn't far from where our office is. So I commend him for this!

Used it for daily carpet cleaning in a condo building. Suction was meh at first but it was doing the job. Now after 4 month the vaccum is totaly useless suction is weak even after a full clean

this vacuum does an awesome job for me at work. vacuuming 7 days a week at a bar/restaurant. highly recommended! awesome customer service as well.

It is very heavy but I don't care. This vacuum does an amazing job on thick carpets like mine and the suction is incredible.
