Was weary about this purchase due to the price and a no-name brand.TrueNas scale recognized the card right away and its been working great.Did need to buy some dual SFF-8643 cables for connection from my device backplane to this card.

This works amazing well as a HBA, and is plug and play compatible with Linux (and probably windows, don't know for sure though, as I don't use it). Insanely fast speeds and let me go from 8 to 16 drives without incident. Even was detected and bootable by consumer motherboards as opposed to needing a server board.Only issue is it runs hot, but that is a know issue for these cards, and one that can easily be remedied with a case-fan.Not as issues so much as a good to be aware of: this shipped with a very very old firmware/bios, but the SAS3FLASH utility can easily flash the latest to it, and your off to the races.

When I added 4 new drives to my DIY NAS, I also needed to upgrade my HBA (a IBM M1015 flashed into IT mode) and chose this 9305-16i.In the six months since purchasing it, I have been very happy with this 9305-16i. It has dutifully done its job without issue since.As an added bonus, the vendor was gracious enough to send me a full-height PCI-e bracket after I absent-mindedly misplaced mine when I decided to move my DIY NAS into a new enclosure and needed to swap out the bracket.

16 port HBA pulling roughly 20-21 Watts. Passively cooled the card runs hot but it is stable. I chose this over the 9200 series because the energy consumption is 5-6 W lower. Aside from the waiting time for shipping, it was a rock solid purchase.

The SKU I ordered for this Broadcom compatible generic Host Bus Adapter was supposed to come with a mini SAS cable set. When I saw that it was missing, I contacted the company and it took them almost no time to get back to me, confirm that the order was supposed to include the cables, and send a new set at no extra charge. For this reason, I give the customer support 5 stars.The card is not distinguishable from the Broadcom version, and in order to find out more about it, you need to get hold of the Broadcom documentation as well. I wish this version came with better documentation and some installation tips. On that side, I give documentation 2 stars. If you're not familiar with using RAID cards vs HBA cards, you'll need to do some investigation or reach out to support, which will likely point you to the Broadcom documentation.On the other hand, the card works quite well. I've started using it in a NAS build with a couple of SAS drives, and am looking forward to adding more drives to the box. Note that although you may be lead to believe that a 350W power supply will work, you should also invest in a good 750W supply, especially if you'll load up the card with all 16 drives. For the build and operational quality, I'm giving the card another 5 stars.Overall, this is a very good option for servers and NAS solutions. Highly recommended.

I just needed to move an existing pool of disks from 6 to 12Gb. Slotted this into an older EPYC server running Proxmox and everything fired right up, all disks recognized.It's running hot and the PCIE slots in this chassis don't get enough air, but I haven't had any actual issues. If I experience any, I'll add a fan.
