This dispenser has a major flaw that makes it extremely frustrating to use. Specifically, when it comes time to cut the tape, there is a plastic flap that you are supposed to press against the box, which in turn pushes on a spring-loaded metal part that causes the serrated blade to swing out to contact the tape, penetrate the tape, then sever the tape as you maneuver the dispenser. The problem is the blade is simply not sharp enough to penetrate the tape. This results in a bunch of excess tape being pulled out, which then gets tangled up. If it cuts at all, it's only after the tangled mess sticks to some part of the dispenser, providing the tension needed for the cut. But even then, it isn't a clean cut, but more akin to when you use your teeth to pierce a piece of tape before you tear it the rest of the way. It's just an astonishingly poor implementation of what has essentially come to be a standard design. But there is a far more serious problem with the design of this dispenser. When the tape doesn't cut and you end up with a tangled mess of tape multiple times in succession, you might be tempted to experiment with techniques that allow you to create more tension and pressure in order to get the blade to penetrate the tape. And in so doing, you might try things that put your fingers or other body parts in the blade's path as you wildly maneuver the dispenser to try to get it to cut. DON'T DO THIS. Seriously. Because although the blade doesn't cut the tape worth a damn, it WILL cut your fingers, guaranteed. But it won't just cut them; it will brutally tear into them, as serrated blades are inclined to do.So, to summarize the reasons why this tape dispenser is the worst of its kind:• The blade fails to penetrate the tape, causing excess tape to come out and get tangled.• The failure of the blade invites serious injury as you try to find workarounds to get the dispenser to cut.• The tape sticks to the metal tab that keeps the tape pressed against the roller, causing it to jam.• The tape sticks to the flat area where the handle meets the dispenser body, again causing it to jam.Looking at the 130 1-star reviews (as of April 18, 2022), which account for NEARLY A THIRD OF ALL REVIEWS, I can see that I am far from alone in my assessment of this ill-conceived weapon of war. I can also see that the issues are not a new development but in fact date back at least SIX YEARS. So, not only is this thing horrible, but it's been horrible for a long time, and apparently no effort has been made to change that.Scotch/3M, if you're listening, read the room. Fix this abomination before someone gets seriously injured.Yes, it's that bad.Really, don't buy this tape dispenser. It's horrible and dangerous.

I don't know whether to give 3 or 4 stars. This is my first tape gun so I was excited to get it.Pros: Does it's job, durable, grip handle, visually niceCons: Cheaper options out there with supposedly better quality, not easiest to useIt performs about par or maybe just under par. It could just be my technique but I sometime find difficulty in cutting off the tape and I've tried pushing hard (not to break the plastic level though), pulling straight and even, pulling with one side of the blade first, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. The blade seems like it could come out further. It's definitely sharp enough but could use a bit more (maybe 2mm). There was a retail packaging sticker on the metal plate in front of the blade. It was a crappy sticker so it left a ton of residue, which took some elbow grease and rubbing alcohol to get off. The tape also seems to have a problem staying sometimes after it is torn off. If taping a box rapidly, the tape may fold over and bunch up, causing a time delay. It feels nice in my hand and setting up and everything is a breeze. Theres an adjustable knob to vary the resistance on the tape roll.I think I would buy a different one next time.

The metal flap that catches the tape keeps getting stuck which lead to injury, wasted time, and wasted product. Stabbed myself damn good with how bad the design is.

I bought the dispenser and 6 rolls of tape. The tape does not come off the dispenser very easily. I have tried adjusting the knob on the tape holder and it does no good. I really expected to work better and be easier to use.

Es muy difÃcil poder cortar la cinta con los dientes que tiene, ya probe con varias cintas más delgadas y simplemente no corta, no lo recomiendo

Malo, la cinta se despega demasiado.
