Scotts® EZ Seed® Dog Spot Repair has a special salt neutralizer formula that minimizes the effects of salts from dog urine and repairs up to 100 dog spots in your lawn. Dog Spot Repair Sun and Shade consists of a combination of high performance grass seed, mulch that expands to surround the seed, a soil amendment that repairs areas burned by dog urine, tackifier to help keep seeds from washing away and a protectant to help keep seeds safe. There are three easy steps to success: 1) prep the area by removing dead grass and loosening hard soil, 2) evenly apply EZ Seed® so the area is mostly covered but bare ground is still visible, and 3) saturate with water until no more water is being absorbed and seed turns dark brown. When EZ Seed® begins to turn light brown, it's time to water again. Plant seed in the spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 55°F and 70°F, or air temperatures between 60°F and 80°F. For best results, keep kids, pets, and lawn mowers off newly planted seedlings until the grass is 3 inches high.

I moved into a house last December and my dogs were peeing on the grass and started to notice the grass was turning brown and thought now it was ruined. Until I came across this product and thought i would give it a try. It took awhile to work but in a few months my grass was back and better then ever. I will purchase more in future.

This indeed got grass growing well over some bad, longterm "dog spots" right near our sidewalk. Within 2 weeks we had a lot of grass growing in those areas. While expensive for the small amount you get it does work well. I would recommend getting some cheap soil and mixing it together to make your dollar go farther.

Don't plant in summer. It's too hot and it will burn the hell up and you will waste your money. Plant in spring or fall when the soil temps are a lot cooler. Or get your dog to pee on your neighbors lawn like I've been doing.

What a scam. What a shame. Product only goes half way. What a waste of plastic. Very disappointed. I bought this so my dogs could have grass. I really hope it atleast works since I only have half the bottle or my dogs with never touch nice, luscious grass with their little paws.☹️Edit: grass never grew🤧

I’d offer before and after photos but they would look the same. My small backyard is spotty with places that my dog has destroyed. Followed the directions, waited 2 1/2 weeks and no grass has grown. Meanwhile I’ve watered and walked my dog to give the seeds every opportunity to thrive. Now, it’s too late in the season to replant and I’m going to have a muddy lawn all winter. I assumed Scott’s would be a safe purchase.

This seed has worked wonders for us after our dogs killed the grass. I would highly recommend it as it is super easy and works quickly.

Great for growing back patches and sections of grass that are bald or not growing. I have used this twice on different areas in the back yard. I pulled up a brick pathway, spread the seed and watered it per instructions. It grew back nice and lush. I recommend this to anyone who needs to regrow grass.

I have two small dogs and a few areas near the house that have been burned by their urine. I decided to give this a try. It worked ok in that yes, the seeds did germinate and I had some grass after a few weeks. In order to prep the area, you have to remove all the dead grass so you’re essentially planting on bare ground. The problem was that the seed within the mulch mixture seems to be much too sparse to really fill it in. In the first picture, the spot is about 12x6 inches at its widest. you can see small tufts of grass despite me having generously covered the entire area with the mixture; however, there are still large bare patches that didn’t seem to include any seed. The second picture, which was a much smaller area (about the size of a small fist) filled in better. Bottom line, I think it works better for very small patches, but the mixture itself does not include enough seed to repair larger areas. I will most likely end up repairing the larger areas with sod.
