Scotts® WeedEx™ Prevent with Halts® prevents crabgrass and other problem weeds for a beautiful lawn all season long. In early spring, apply when the lawn is dry to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, and oxalis. Apply in the fall (August-October) to prevent moss (except in California), or to prevent the germination of Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product. For Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 2 ¼. For Scotts® drop spreaders, use a setting of 4 ½. For Scotts® Wizz®, use a setting of 3 ¼. For best results, the lawn should receive ¼ to ½ inch of water from rainfall or watering within 2-3 days after application. Rain, snow, or freezing weather after application will not affect performance. This product controls crabgrass in its early stages of growth. It does not control mature crabgrass and other existing weeds. Do not apply to Dichondra and Bentgrass. One 10.06 lb. bag of Scotts® WeedEx™ Prevent with Halts® covers 5,000 sq. ft.

I can’t say anything bad about Scott. Awesome product.

I applied this to part of my lawn in early April, though I should have done it in early March since it's a pre-emergent herbicide. It's now late June and it's clear this did reduce the amount of crabgrass in my lawn where it was applied. The crabgrass is completely gone from some areas where it had totally taken over. You can see a clear line between where I applied it, and my neighbor did not.Where the crabgrass grew soonest (a really warm area at the south of a building) it didn't work as well, but that was probably because I didn't apply it soon enough. My only complaint, is that the application instructions are for a Scott's applicator, and I had to calculate settings for my spreader.Bottom line... the entire lawn is getting covered next year in March. Be sure to check their website for info on when to apply in your region.

I apply Scott’s pre-emergent in late winter and in the fall on my Bermuda and Zoysia lawn. My yard is the envy of the neighborhood. Of course, I also use a high nitrogen fertilizer and an occasional fungicide when needed.

I have been putting this down in the fall and do not have any winter weeds all winter until about February, then end up fighting Poa-Annua in the spring. I am still trying to figure out the best time to apply this stuff. It seems that different applications of different products work the best. I used this last fall and 2 different applications of different products in the spring and I seem to have got better control this season. I have heard you can't have too much of the same thing in the soil at the same time. It may be a matter of getting the timing right. I am going to try to wait until into Nov this year to apply this and see if I get better control into early spring

Have not noticed a significant reduction of weeds in my lawn. Used a spreader with recommended settings. Not happy with the results.

Eliminated all of my crabgrass. It was so bad last year that I had to buy an extra battery for for my mower just to keep up with mowing it down. I have tried the other brands and they dont work. This year, no issues and a great looking lawn.

haven't had 100 percent success but definitely has helped with annual weeds. Repeat buyer.

I have not had luck in the past with crab grass preventer, but this product did the trick. It is a month and a half later and my grass is a beautiful green with NO crabgrass anywhere. All of my neighbors lawns are full of crabgrass and they all want to know what I used!
