Works superbly. Had to purchase a spare for my Scotty downrigger fishing.

Best releases you can buy for downriggers bar none. I have found they are the easiest to accurately set the tension in every use. They are simple and their design allows for them to be attached to the main cable to put multiple rods and it's easy. Amazon has them reasonably prices as well

Easy to use and works as it should. Caught trout and Kokanee with mini release and downriggerzz. Highly recommended

smaller of two sizes available. Release works Well for Kokanee and is adjustable for heavier fishing. Had one pinch pad ripped off, and finding the replacement pinch pads has been a problem. Have found the replacement pads for the larger size, but not this one.

I had thought about buying various bits and parts to make my own releases for trout/kokanee fishing, but then realized that I wasn't saving a bit when my time was factored in. And time is short as the dad of 3 young kids. I'd rather spend the couple hours actually fishing than making releases. They work really well, though I find I need to put most rigs pretty far back in the pads. Maybe when I'm retired I'll make my own during long winters, but it's so much better to buy the real deal now.

I liked this right out of the box because it is built for light action, my reason for purchasing. The first time I used it I wound the downrigger cable in slightly too much and to my surprise the wire clip came off the cable the instant it hit the cable pulley. I would have lost it except it wrapped itself around the cable long enough for me to grab it. So I am very careful now. It has caught quite a few kokanee and trout.

These downrigger clips always work good for me. Have nt had any yet that start popping out all the time when you put tension on your fishing line.

I take them apart and make these releases longer (about 70") using 100# monofilament, and crimps. That way I don't have to lift the weights out of the water. Just grab the line with my rod tip. The longer line will then reach the gunnel. Super convenient. One more thing. don't attach clip to the weight , but to the line 2 or 3 feet above the weight. Use two auto stoppers. One on each side of clip to keep the clip from sliding.

Lighter hold for lighter lines works very well on deep fresh water lakes. Some I fish are 40 to 60 ft. deep. The downrigger works great on these types of lakes

Used on canon downriver.Would recommend getting the larger release clips as the smaller clips will not hold braid line very well. The larger clips are very good for this.

There are cute but not what I want. Not worth my while to return them. Just want to make aware others.
