The Scotty #242 Rail Mount Adapter allows you to mount the Scotty Side/Deck Mounts (#241 & #241L) on your boat's railing for use with all Scotty post mount rod holders. (Side/Deck Mount not included.) Works with 7/8" and 1" diameter round rails, as well as 1" square rails. Includes stainless steel fasteners for ROUND rails. When using with a 1" SQUARE rail, substitute 1/4 - 20 x 2" round head stainless steel machine screws - these are NOT included. Color choices: Black, Gray and White.

This is a great fishing pole mounting bracket! It is tough and clamps firmly to the rail on the boat. The push-button release for the pole holder is fantastic, beats the old pull out half way - twist - and pull again method. Now you can pull it out in any direction. And the mount turns in any direction you want it to go. Couldn't ask for more!

Scotty makes durable, trustworthy accessories (my experience, anyway). Nice fit but see comments noting the bolts too short for 1" rail diameter. If true, that's entirely Scotty's responsibility to represent or package accordingly.

We removed the cheap rod holders that were on our yacht and replaced them with Scotty's. We've used them on several boats now and have had the clamp-on adapters, through-deck adapters, and now these rail mounts. The Scotty rod holders are good and solid, and all the adapters we have used are also good and solid.

This is a good product, but I thought the rails on my pontoon were smalled. Have not used it yet

Only way to go for a rail mount. Mainly for my Paddles, but multi purpose scotty compatible. Will by more!
