I purchased the 5’ version last year and so love it, but it isn’t long enough. I like the longer ones much better, I have more range with the 7’ which makes a huge difference. I just started to hunt suckerfish in the river, which is some of the most fun I’ve had in a long time!

Exactly the same as the 5' (which for some reason has much better reviews). Literally the only difference is you have 2 of the lower pieces...which means extra parts if 5' or the option to go the full 7'. Used both set-ups and both tips (I also purchased the single tip). The spear is amazing, super affordable, user-friendly, and speared 30+ fish on trip. Highly recommend, you are using it wrong if you are disappointed.

It sounds like from the other reviews that this product is a hit or miss. Personally this is what I recommend for people that are new to scuba diving and snorkeling that want to spear fish. It does take some time to become really good at it. When you use it pull the rubber band all the way to the end or else the spear wont go through the fish. This is probably for somebody that wants to spear fish but does not want to buy a spear gun. With how it screws together it really saves space on a small boat but i discovered that you need to tighten it really well before you go in the water or it will flop around on you. I hope this helps somebody.

You might think a 7' spear in yellow with a paralyzer top for $40 is a great deal, but let me level with you.The individual pole pieces don't screw into each other. There are fasteners riveted onto the pole, and those fasteners screw together greatly reducing the overall integrity of the complete pole. Worst part is the metal used for the fasteners is very weak. After drawing the spear back ONLY 5 TIMES before every fastener broke at once. You can imagine my surprise when I began my descent to spear a fish when I feel a snap and a very hard impact on the back of my shoulder from the bottom of the spear snapping back. I swam back up to examine the spear and noticed that each of the fasteners became broken and jagged. I could have also easily been stabbed by the jagged metal also.I HIGHLY recommend that you keep looking for a more expensive solid spear or break down that screws directly into the pole pieces and not into fasteners. Spend the extra money for a good one.

Bungee cord snapped after first use and the bolts rusted. Not a great quality pole. Caught some great fish though.

We bought two sets for a trip on the river. The sling is perfect to retrieve the spear. Sharp edges for sure, perfect to catch great fish , small or medium to large sized (Sweet water river fish, not talking river monsters here). The pouch it comes with is super convenient for transporting it, not making it ungodly awkward transporting it in a car. Perfect buy.

I like the length but the cord fell apart on the second use and I almost lost the spear as it came off my float line. I was able to recover it and have been successful with it after replacing the cord going to the rubber band.

Product is as described. Works like it should!Only thing is that the sections tend to unthread from each other. You must be careful and check them constantly, or they could fall off or break. Get in a habit of checking every few minutes.

We returned it and found one without rivets on amazon. This one has added rivets on the outside which makes it dangerous to rip the skin of your hand if your technique is not absolutely perfect.
