This rig is, indeed, carbon fiber and quite lightweight. The problem is that it is as if someone was told what a polespear was supposed to be and then created this without ever having used one. The pieces connect together with knurled connectors that are attached with rivets. IMHO, the spear is unusable without gloves...on the off chance the rivet catches your skin, it might be you bleeding underwater instead of a fish - no good. Also, the metal connectors will rust if you even say the word "saltwater" near them. This is a good beginner product and very compelling at the price, but is just not "there" in terms of quality or execution. Not total garbage - it does actually "work", but will likely last a very short period of time and may injure you.

The band is so so doesn't launch very fast also even after ringing everything off the spear started to rust I had 2 spray paint everything metal

The paper thin brackets holding the parts together will snap underwater with the spearing of any significant sized fish. I would not recommend this product

that harpon is very very light. the only thing is the section get unscrewed to easy. You can fixe that with silicone tape
