About this item

  • SCUBAPRO's space-age Monprene elastomer construction includes a special additive to enhance stiffness, resulting in more power and control for divers that like a stiff fin with more feedback.
  • The fin excels in both high-speed and low-speed maneuvering, including frog kicks and reverse kicks, with improved handling for small directional adjustments.
  • With SCUBAPRO's Pivot Control Technology, you'll maintain the most efficient 45-degree angle of attack no matter how easy or hard you kick.
  • A well-engineered foot plate with co-molded grip pads keeps your footing secure even on slippery boat decks or dive ladders.
  • Driven to constantly innovate and improve the diving experience, SCUBAPRO builds high-quality equipment for the work, sport, and lifestyle of people whose passion is found below the surface.
  • Pivot Control Technology ensures that the most efficient 45-degree angle of attack is maintained no matter how easy or hard you kick.
  • Marine grade bungee strap is self-adjusting, comfortable, extremely durable, and makes easy work of donning and doffing the fin.
  • Re-engineered footplate with co-molded Grip Pads provides an improved non-skid grip on wet surfaces.

The successor to the famous SCUBAPRO Gorilla fins of the 1980s, this new version of the awardwinning Seawing Nova has been finetuned to provide a slight increase in stiffness and snap. They give you more power, more speed and even better frogkickability while at the same time ensuring they still offer the legendary comfort and efficiency of Seawings The GORILLAs are ideal for those diving in demanding conditions The articulated joint allows the blade to pivot and the entire blade is able to generate thrust. Pivot control technology ensures the most efficient angle of attack is maintained no matter how hard or softly you kick, generating thrust without drag or wasted energy. Clean water blade geometry for optimum propulsion. Water is free to flow onto the working section of the blade, drag is reduced and thrust increased. Variable pivot control ribs insures that the most efficient angle of attack is maintained across all strengths of kick. I'm a marine biologist and love snorkeling, free-diving, and scuba diving. I honestly wasn't sure if buying the Seawing Novas was going to be worth the price or if I should get the regular or Gorilla version. I took these on a trip to Indonesia and wow; I am so glad I got Seawing Nova Gorillas! I was effortlessly reaching speeds no one else was and getting deeper on fewer kicks with what felt like a really light amount of resistance. My legs were not tired at all at the end of the day and I am glad I got the model with a stiffer kick. I was still able to maneuver effortlessly in shallow, strong currents around delicate corals without risking harm to these amazing creatures. They did take up a bit of my travel bag, but these are definitely worth the investment!

I have swam with scuba pro jet fins for about 30 years in all kinds of conditions and missions. They are terrific. These have them beat though. These are very comfortable , the pocket comes all the way under the heel. The bungi strap makes them really easy to get on and quick to get off. They are lighter than jet fins but increase the thrust and resistance a lot. Totally different workout for your thighs and calves. I use them daily for swimming an hours worth of pool laps. Get an great workout.

You should use these for a few serious workout swims before using to get your back in shape. Until I got in shape for these flips, my back (for about three weeks) felt like it was gonna break... The pain KILLED! But then, OH BAYBEE!! I swim year round in the lower Columbia near the mouth about a mile to a mile five several times a week and the currents are no bullshat. However, these flips allow one to: a. swim directly against the current and gain ground for a short sprint; b. easily swim perpendicular to the current and go where you need to go. (Just pre-plan for the distance that the up or down current will pull you as you are traversing and make sure that no doucheable boaters are gonna get in yer hair.) c. These flips will make you fly if you are swimming directly with the current. However, beware. I was swimming along one time amongst pilings in a slack tide and nailed a piling root spur and gashed my head wide open (despite having a 7mm+ hoodie on). Now I wear a bike helmet and a thick rubber neck flange protecter thing.

A great fin. I've used split fins for years to reduce leg craps. This fin worked great and did not tire my legs. The bungee straps are better than springs. The extra large size is a little loose on my foot with 3 mm booties, not bad, and easy to remove on the tag line. Best of all they also work with my dry suit boots. With the bright orange my dive buddy always knows where I am. I now have two sets of split fins to sell and one set of fins to carry around. Fantastic!

Switched over from some split fins. There is literally no comparison between the power of these gorillas and my old split fins. These have so much "thrust", awesome!

The dive pro talked these up and sold me on them. I found these “used new” - probably just a frugal return. It was in original packaging. Reviews seem to be true. They’re a little stiffer than the regular models but let me tell you how easy they are to put on, carry around and work in the water. You won’t regret it. Some of the Best money i spent

I adore these fins so much! These Springy orange speedsters are super navigable. I got them for scuba, but condition with them in a lap pool often. I swim in a happy fast barrel rolls and troll along the bottom swimming backwards watching the surface. when a life guard gets too close I can pop up and launch a couple gallons of water several feet in a magnificent splash because the spring hinges give me serious oomph! Haven’t gotten kicked out of the pool yet and having and amazing time with theses excellent fins.

Up to now I did more than 130 dives with these fins and they are very robust and giving a great propulsion. Little pain in the beginning but your feed getting used to it.
