I wanted to replace a defective latch near the carrying handle of a guitar case. This retro style box toggle latch worked out great. The hard part was removal of the original latch. A small rotary tool is essential for this procedure. With the old latch removed , I pop riveted this new latch in place and was able to install a TSA approved padlock on the latch for some additional security. I like the way this latch works and seems sturdy enough for long time use. I would buy again should the need arises.

When the hasp on my shoe box quit catching, I decided to replace it. This was my choice and it really is beautiful. It works great and now I can pick up my shoe box and the cover doesn't open and everything falls out. I am so glad I found this product. It is wonderful and works extremely well.

I picked up a pair of these to try out on the first of 3 matching boxes. They're good enough that I will go ahead and pick up 2 more pairs to finish the others. The screws they come with are the perfect length for fastening to 1/2" thick material, and would easily work on 3/4" material. I was able to use the fasteners that come with these latches, which is not always the case. They are easy to strip as I did on a few of them. They look nice enough and match the other "aged bronze" finish on my handle and hinges pretty well.HOWEVER: They are cheaply made stamped material and the edges are a little sharp. This includes the bottom of the latch part where your fingers will lift from. I took a gentle file to the edges of mine to round the edges just a bit. I would NOT recommend these latches for something that is expected to get heavy use. For my next project I will try something else.

Sturdier than the smaller ones. Be gentle with the screws.

This is a little too large for the project I had in mind but overall looks like a good quality hinge.
