Designed for drums, guitars, pianos, or indeed, any application requiring a pencil-mic design, the sE Electronics sE7 is a back-electret, small-diaphragm condenser microphone. It sports a cardioid polar pattern. Fashioned from class-A circuitry and utilizing a transformerless output, the microphone captures sound with clarity and neutrality across its frequency response, thus eschewing overly harsh highs and aiding in a pleasurable bottom end. A switchable 20 dB attenuation pad allows you to use this microphone with loud instruments, doing so with a favorable signal-to-noise ratio. A low-cut filter at 80 Hz helps filter out rumble and other unwanted bass issues. Thus, you can use the sE7 in both close and distant miking scenarios. An all-metal chassis provides a robust, roadworthy construction, while gold-plated XLR terminations ensure security in the connecting process. A mic clip and a windscreen are included.
This kit includes a black 10-pack of Pearstone 0.5 x 6" Touch Fastener Straps provides a cost-effective way to bundle and organize cables. The straps are easy to use, featuring a loop-through slot and touch fastener attachment. Each tie can be refastened at least 200 times. Plus a 20' XLR-XLR Cable & Pop filter.

This mic has a nice clean sound, but it has high gain so use the -20db switch and will sound great on acoustic guitar, piano, since I don't have drums, I can't comment on overhead cymbals. I even tried it on a boom going thru a Shure fp33 field mixer and Tascam dr100 mk iii and picked up dialog fine from 2ft away with no problem, try it with different things and you might be surprised what this inexpensive mic can do, just make sure when you need the -20db on or the mic will distort.

It worked great on the first test shoot. After that single recording though it always seems to have interference or some sort of electrical noise.

Beginner guitar player with hearing aid and needed a microphone, cable from my small battery amplifier to mount onto instructor's music stand. Great product ... but now I have to find the mount/clamp to hold the microphone/holder!!Do you have any affordable clamps for this microphone set?

I use this mic to record acoustic guitars, and I must say, I'm very impressed with this little guy. About a year ago, I picked up a sE Electronics V7 vocal mic and loved it. Thought I'd give this one a go as well, and it did not disappoint. I mic'd up my acoustic with the sE7 on the 12th fret, off axis pointing to the sound hole on one side and the V7 pointing at the bridge off axis toward the sound hole on the other and got a beautiful recording tone from it. Well worth the $99.
