Worked great to add snaps to a universal boat cover I recently purchased. Snaps fit well with my existing boat snaps. Snap pressure is also good. Supplied tool does take a little care to align the snaps as noted in other reviews, but is strong and works great. Take your time and do not use too much pressure when crimping as the plated snaps are brass so are soft metal.After using all the supplied snaps I purchased additional stainless steel snaps from another canvas supplier here on Amazon. Tool works great with those, and I found the SS snaps to be a little bit stronger on the crimping side so should hold up a bit better. No problems squeezing the tool on either snap, it is strong and well built. I did punch the holes first on the canvas...maybe those who had difficulty thought they could punch through the material with the snap itself.

I've been in the marine business for over 40 yrs and I needed a snap tool quickly. This tool performed as well as any professional tool I've ever used. I don't know how it would stand up in the long run, but for everyday use it's quite good.

I would have appreciated more detailed instructions, but overall this is a good product. It took some trial and error for me to get the hang of it. Also, I have small hands so it was a little difficult to get the snaps aligned and then pressed together properly. It helped me to make a small incision in the strapping so that the bottom piece wasn't sliding around before I pressed the fastener tool down. I also squeezed three times in succession to make sure the snaps were properly adhered.

The first time I went to attach a snap, the tool broke in my hand, Threw the rest of the kit out, don't waste your money.

Nice Snap KitIf you find a place where you wish you had a snap, two minutes and it's done.Pliers work much better than the punch and anvil type and you can install it in any position.

I wanted this to work....the snaps look like quality...but where the set falls apart is with the tool. The instructions keep indicating to place the snaps in the tool and it will hold them in place but no such luck. After lots of experimenting, decided to call the company because maybe I am doing something wrong. Turns out, the tool has a design flaw and will not work as instructions indicate. It can still be used, but must be very careful to balance the parts in the tool as you move the fabric in place.Too much effort on my part, so sending it back.

Used it to replace light weight tent trailer snaps and it worked fine, tool is a little flimsy looking but held up just fine.

This works perfectly.Do not buy the kit that uses an anvil, it is a waste of money.It is simple to use and makes a very sturdy connection on the components. Also, the construction looks good enough that my kids will inherit this thing.

It’s a good product but the snaps seem to be a bit flimsy .... the tool itself is very durable. I’m super pleased with it!

Bought it to try putting some snaps on some random things around the house. The pliers work pretty good but the snaps don't hold very strong and come apart quite easily. If you need to put them on any heavy material you'll need to puncture/cut holes for the snap stems before you try to use these or the stems will just bend like a staple into too many pages.
