Oh I don't really know how to rate these.For the price I paid, I guess I can't complain. But a couple of things do irk me about these.One, they aren't exactly "red". When activated, they're more "purple". The light hitting the dome just doesn't quite add up, and it really amounts to a purple strobe.Secondly, the base on this thing is just downright goofy. It has a lip on the mounting surface, so the surface doesn't sit flush against whatever you're mounting to. Might not seem like a big deal, but in my case there was some overhang past the edge of my original mounting location, and because of the lip, this would have allowed water to pool into the underside of the light like a bowl. (Not good, obviously, because it's not a watertight base.) In the end I had to relocate to another spot.Thirdly, the base is very deep and I needed to use some 2 1/2 inch screws to get it mounted. Luckily I had a box, but if I had to stop installation to go get screws I would have been pretty annoyed.

Sleek, well-made, weather-resistant, and very brilliant strobe light. The screws it comes with aren't very useful, you'll want to obtain more sturdy 3/16" or so bolts to mount this permanently anywhere. Super-simple hook-up wires, positive and ground. The purpose for which I purchased these lights is for rear emergency illumination on my motorcycle where they mount atop the saddlebags. Visible in daylight but intense at night. These lights are only a third to a quarter the cost of mainline emergency equipment manufacturers' products and just as good. I purchased two, the standard red and blue. ADDED: Be careful mounting these on anything not hard and perfectly flat ... the plastic housing distorts easily when the screws are torqued-down and then the lenses don't screw-on right. Tighten carefully and slowly as you keep an eye on whether you're warping it.

Bought this for its cover, to replace a functioning but very old and discontinued alarm strobe light cover. Grateful it’s the same size!

I used this light for a flood alarm. Bright enough to draw attention even in a well lit environment. Please note that this type of lights are not made for permanent use! If you need something that is constantly on, use high power LEDs instead.
