works as advertised just wish i could adjust it like a crescent wrench fore bigger or smaller circumference of piping and still function the way it does.

If you frequently switch between multiple pipe sizes, this tool can be more convenient than a standard wrench. The jaw locks open when fully extended, which is handy when jumping between two sizes without needing to adjust anything. However, this feature comes with a slight trade-off in grip strength—it doesn’t lock as securely or as quickly as a properly adjusted standard wrench. It can also be a bit finicky to position on the pipe if you need to force it open. These self-adjusting wrenches are ideal if you have plenty of workspace and are working with large nuts or pipes where marring isn’t a concern. They’re versatile, working not only on pipes but also on square heads, hex heads, or even bolt heads that a crescent wrench or socket can’t grip. I’ve found that on PVC pipes, I sometimes need to squeeze the head to get an initial grip. I used it to loosen some jam nuts on tile rods, and the jaw opened wide enough to break them loose easily. There was slight marring on the nut, but it barely slipped, if at all.Typically, you’d need two pipe wrenches for such tasks, but pairing this with a standard wrench works well. I’d definitely recommend it if you do a lot of pipe work and are tired of constantly adjusting your wrenches. That said, I do have some concerns about its longevity, given the spring-driven jaw mechanism. Time will tell how well it holds up, but for now, it’s a handy and efficient tool.

I have a very old (around 30 years old) speed wrench just like this, but it is a "200mm" version with a shorter handle and no grip. It's also been used a lot on rounded and rusty bolt heads and it's completely worn out.I ordered the 10-inch speed wrench which is slightly larger than my old one in every dimension, but still (I think) small enough to get into lots of tight spots. The teeth are far sharper and have a lot more bite than my old one ever did. It's a multi-use tool, so you never know what you'll use it for. This is a very well-built speed-wrench for the money.

This pipe wrench is so easy to use. It's designed well and works great. It works for a good range of pipe sizes and is very versatile. Great gripping and a good value.

Wrench was much lighter than I thought it would be. Does not feel as heavy duty as your typical adjustable wrench. When the stars align and a job perfectly matches with the self adjusting wrench, it seems like magic. But, most of the time, I was reaching for a traditional adjustable wrench to actually get work done. It's more a curiosity than a tool, for me at least.
