I highly recommend this product! I was very hesitant about about purchasing a self-cleaning litter box, because I was afraid that the potential complications would outweigh its conveniences, for myself as well as my cats. I took a leap of faith and ordered the Furoommate self-cleaning litter box, and this has turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made.PRODUCT, DESIGN, ACCESSORIES: Easy to set up, and easy to clean. I love the open-top design, and the fact that it does not require any sort of app. Some tips: *Follow the instructions. *Make sure the grate "clicks" firmly in place when you remove it for cleaning. Because if it's a little loose, all the litter will basically empty out through the sieve along with the clumps. *I highly recommended the separately-sold Furoomate stepper as well. *If you live with a cat who likes to kick around the litter, I also recommend independently-sold, model-specific 3D-printed litter guards, which are amazingly helpful to keep things even cleaner. *If your cat pees on the edges of the box, clumps can sometimes stick to the lining. Some litters work better than others, in terms of not sticking. I've found Boxie to be a great litter to use with the Furoomate. Boxie is pricey, but you don't need as much of it for a self-cleaning (versus manual) litter box, and the odor control is great. Sometimes you have to slightly nudge sticky-edge-clumps (which will then be automatically filtered out) with a scooper, though this is in no way a hassle.MY LIMITED-SPACE, 2-CATS-1-BOX SITUATION: If space is limited, there are may advantages to be had with the Furoomate! The size of a self-cleaning litter box was a big concern of mine, as I live in a very small single-bath home, with 2 cats. My cats have been sharing a litter box since they were kittens, and I was scooping twice a day. I am not someone who minds scooping, so that was never an issue. The (huge) added value of a self-cleaning litter box is that it's basically like a flush, so the box stays much cleaner in general. Now, when I travel, I don't have to choose between either paying a pet sitter for 2 visits a day just to scoop again in the evening, or paying a pet sitter for 1 visit a day and having messes and odors accumulate more than usual while I'm gone.CATS' REACTIONS: Cat #1 took to the litter box immediately. Cat #2 was quite wary. He freaked out after he saw it move, and he was particularly put off by the Furoomate after my roommate picked him up and plopped him down on the litter. I thought it was game over, and I was stressed out by the thought of needing to leave 2 litter boxes side by side in a tiny space in perpetuity. But after about 2 weeks of leaving the box unplugged and just scooping (so Cat #2 could properly warm up to it), Cat #2 regularly started using the Furoomate, and he is now its biggest fan! Prior, he was having some occasional marking-out-of-the-box issues. Now thanks to the Furoommate, this is no longer an issue, either for him or for me - praise the Lord!!!CUSTOMER SERVICE: My Furoomate experienced a loose-contact issue with the plug. But customer service was so prompt, kind, and helpful in resolving the issue, which affirmed my decision all the more. I remain so grateful that the Furoomate exists in my life (and my cats' lives)!BOTTOM LINE: The Furoomate is an all-around great value for its design, ease of setup/use/cleaning, effectiveness (as a quality-of-life upgrade for cats and humans alike), convenience, and customer service.

I was hoping this litter box would be the answer to getting rid of the stinky litter box smell in my house. It was actually worse than the traditional litter box that I was using. I think the problem is there is no seal between the drawer that holds the discarded poop and pee litter, so the smell just comes straight up through the gaps between the base and bowl. I used for two weeks with 2 cats using it and my house smelt like a zoo/farm. I requested a refund, which was approved. Cleaned the litter box extremely well, boxed it up and shipped it back. They received it, but I have not received my refund yet. I am not happy with this purchase on amazon at all.
