Some outdoor doorways are not always built so sturdy that they are invulnerable to swelling and contracting over different temperatures, or sagging/moving over time. I have such a gate near my chicken coop. It's sturdy enough to keep them safe, but isn't exactly made of 6x6s and cemented 4' in the ground the way it should be. These adjustable hinges are perfect for re-tuning the fit from time to time and keeping things so that they lock and latch as they should. I also love the added bonus that you can adjust the spring tension, another thing that tends to vary in hotter/colder months. These are quality made and work great!

These hinges are high quality and solid. I would have loved for them to work with my gate, however, they do not. The space between your gate post and the post itself has to be (i would guess) at least 3" for these to work. Mine only had about an inch. There is a bolt that restricts the angle of the door and mine won't open far enough to attach it. Even taking the gate off of the hinges would not work as the bolts would pop out because of the restriction. I think they would be excellent hinges if they just fit the gate. I would suggest the listing be adjusted to include a parameter of space between the gate and the gate post.

This review is for the JIAHOO Self-Closing Gate Hinges, Heavy Duty Door Hinges for Wooden/Vinyl/PVC Fences.Keeps my gate shut. Easy to install. They appear to be well made and should last a while. Screws included. Instructions were easy to follow, but this would be an easy install even without them.Am I a satisfied customer? Yes.Would I recommend this item to a friend? Yes.

Although I haven’t installed these JIAHOO Self-Closing Gate Hinges yet (I realized they weren’t quite what I needed for my project), I can tell they’re top-notch in quality. The hinges feel very sturdy, look fantastic, and have a nice, heavy-duty finish. There’s nothing cheap about them at all. If you’re looking for high-quality hinges for your gate, these would definitely be a solid choice. Highly recommended!

Most spring loaded hinges have one setting that's fixed. I really liked that you can "dial it in" so it suits the application. You can load the spring up to move heavier gates, or back it off so it doesn't slam the gate. The adjustability is definitely a bonus I hadn't considered, but this is easier to adjust than the other adjustable hinges I saw and less expensive for a set!
