I couldn't find the perfect soap dish for our newly remodeled beach theme bathroom. So, since I do a lot of resin and acrylic work I thought I would look for a mold and make my own. I wanted it to look somewhat realistic with a touch of the beach on the bottom, and I feel I accomplished that. I found the mold to be sturdy and almost the perfect width. However, after you use the soap a couple times it does fit well. It drains well and for extra non-slip, I added rubber feet to the bottom as it sits on a cut out on the wall that is tiled. Love the mold!

I filled this mold with epoxy resin after soaking small seashells in it to get the air bubbles out. I added a touch of sky blue translucent pigment and some diamond dust glitter. The mold held up fairly well when filling. There is one area in the opening when filling that has a slight little dip so I can't fill the mold completely, but it's a very minimal difference and doesn't affect the finished product. No one would know you left 1mm unfilled. This mold also has a hole at the snout where air bubbles easily escape. The tail is easy to press to remove any bubbles. It stayed in its sturdy shape while pouring and curing. The great thing about this soap holder is that it is self draining. The snout of the dolphin slants down so any water simply drains out and the soak bar isn't sitting in water! Great design.

The soap dish turned out really pretty. It was easy to unmold and the mold did not rip or tear. The mold does use quite a bit of resin (only downfall). The end product weighed 10.1 oz. However, the soap dish is pretty hefty and it seems like it will hold up for awhile. It is functional and pretty. The water drains out easily and the soap doesn't slide out like it does in some soap dishes. I've paid $25 for a fancy corian soap dish and the soap slides right off it. I have not encountered this so far with this soap dish.

I love this mold and have purchased it many times. The soap dish I make with this is my best seller, I have to make a lot of these and because of the way you have to demold the front of the mold dulls after a couple of pours, maybe 4 or 5 pours and I have to start polishing. They hold up well otherwise.

I was looking to increase my resin sales and was asked to check out Bathroom soap holders. This seemed to be nice and it is. However there are some tricks to demolding it.The tail is large and of course, being shaped like a 'T' it does not come out easy. The silicone they use is very soft so getting the rest out is no issue. When I got to the tail I thought..uh oh this might be an issue. I was tugging and knew it would tear so I got a bowl of hot tap water with lots of dish soap and massaged it until I knew it was not attached anywhere. Then the silicone was even softer and I was able to slip it over the shorter end of the tail. Perfect. Two problem areas are the tail and the chin. Pour about 5 ounces in at first. lift the whole mold up with the tail down and pinch the tail several times to get the trapped air out. I could hold it up to a light and see through the mold to be sure. The other area is the chin (air vent). It looked fine but there was an air pocket that I could not see. I was able to carve it out and you can't notice it but the next ones I will run a toothpick around the vent to be sure it is pure.Last note. Zoom in on my picture and you see the eyes. Even though I hate UV resin, I use it to place all my eyes. This one is a little tricky but I can still get them on. I think it adds a bit to the piece.

My wife and I made this soap dish holder together. It came out extremely beautiful! The mold is a bit tasking to remove once fully cured, but it is so worth it. The self-draining detail is awesome.

This is the first time using this mold. I am a beginner. I really like the mold a lot, and it was easy to de-mold.

Ce porte savon est tellement beau! En plus, il permet au savon de s'égoutter dans l'évier plutôt que sur le côté. Il est délicat à fabriquer avec le bec verseur, mais il vaux tellement la peine.

I have made 4 with great successful. The playful one is for grand daughters, (in the mix are alphabet beads spelling their names.)My 5th mold I tried to use a torch in stead of a heat gun and ruined the mold. I seen on you tube, but mold adhered like cement to the mold. It was garbage. Re-ordered since. Back on track..resin-ating.It takes 9 oz of resin mix.Tip: heat gun no less than 6 inches will help bubble rise to top. Final, a spritz of rubbing alcohol will also deal with bubbles.

Great soap dish mould my only complaint is I wish it was just a smidge wider so my bigger bars of soap don’t slip out. Otherwise great mould. (Soap by Wicked Lee )

Very difficult to demold. too big, causing too many air bubbles to build up.
