I've been eyeing this machine for years and finally took the plunge. I was also looking at the much more expensive and better reviewed Addi machine, but decided to go with this one. It's been a couple days since it arrived, and here are my suggestions for you:1. It may look easy, but there is a serious learning curve to this machine. I'm no expert knitter, but I'm certainly not a beginner, and this one took me several hours of practicing to get the hang of. This comes with several skeins of practice yarn and you should absolutely use them before you dive into your stash.2. Don't rely on the instruction manual. Like the title says, go to Youtube, or Sentro's website for tutorials.3. People in the reviews have complained about dropped stitches and they're not wrong---but the more you get used to the machine and keep it stabilized, the less it happens. Still, learn how to fix dropped stitches with the crochet hook before you dive in.4. Bulky yarn won't work on this machine. Worsted weight and under is best.5. If you're working on a flat panel, cast on starting with the second to last peg. You'll need to crank slightly past it to ensure the yarn slips under the lip and can loop back around the first stitch when you start the next row.Overall, with patience, this thing is definitely worth the money. I've already finished a scarf with it. Good luck with your projects!

I’ve had so much fun with this! I’ve made 4 hats with it today. My first one turned out pretty well! My next three (pictured) turned out amazing! The machine was very easy to set up. However, the paper directions left much to be desired. So, I watch some beginner YouTube videos which really helped. I do not crank as fast as some of the people in the videos because I do not want my machine to break or any stitches to slip. My 4th hat took me about 60 minutes to complete, start to finish (which was 148 rows). So fun and easy! I love this! Also, I would just like to add I cannot crochet or knit. I taught myself how to use round plastic knitting looms to make hats, which is also really fun. The plastic looms and this machine are great for those of us who don’t know how to knit or crochet the regular way. I would recommend this to anyone!

Have used it once to make an hat and enjoying the knitting machine so far. I took off one star off my rating because machine was shipped to with a broken counter, it doesn’t work.

These have gotten a lot of mixed reviews, but honestly, if you read the directions and/or watch a YouTube on it, there's no reason to hate.Yes, it's a knitting machine, BUT you cannot be jamming out on it all willy nilly... And if you do your research, you'll find out that it prefers to work best with 3/4 size yarn. And casting on properly is a must. For me, it's amazing! I've made hats, headbands, ear warmers, and in the process of making a scarf! And its so fast and fun.

I have used this machine to make many hats, ear warmers, hand warmers and scarfs. It works well and is very easy to use after the first couple uses. It’s a great machine for the price. I now own it in 2 sizes and find myself using this one more but glad I have the 22 needle machine too.

The counter on the machine doesn't work properly, the mechanism doesn't line up with the machine's rotating teeth. I tried a replacemnt counter, it's not the counter. The suction cups are inadequate to hold the machine in place. It is noisy, but not more so than the Addie. The yarn it came with I would use only as waste yarn, not good quality.I like the machine, fair price for a hobby machine. It does take time to get to know what tension to use for which yarn.

I really wanted to love this machine. I normally make stuff by hand but thought I’d give this a try as I need to make beanies and some scarves for a homeless outreach project. It’s on the cheaper end so I decided to buy this one rather than the Addi. I figured incorrectly that it would hold up to occasional use. The whole body of this is plastic and it’s very wobbly. I found myself straining to keep it in place even with the use of the suction cups. You have to have a hand on this thing while you’re turning the cranky which is also wobbly. There’s a learning curve on the tension end of this also. But it didn’t really seem to matter after a while what I did. Was able to make a couple of items with some slipped stitches, which I fixed manually, but after a while with the same yarn and tension, it just kept getting worse. I finally just gave up and returned it to buy a more expensive machine. It’s cool in theory but I wouldn’t bother if you want something that will last. Buy the more expensive machine otherwise you will just rip your hair out trying to get this one to work.

Its only been a few days but the machine runs very smoothly and the knit fabrics are coming out great. Easy to follow instructions. Feels sturdily made. Even comes with a tiny screwdriver to screw the legs to the base with. The 48 pin makes a great adult sized hat
