This is a great, loud bell that pierces through noise. We bought it to replace another that we have used for years in our home to signal that meals are ready. Our previous bell, which was similar in design, worked well. This one though is even better! It cuts through a blaring TV on the second floor, and through music blasting in my daughter's bathroom and it's loud enough that the hard of hearing in the extended family pay attention. Just one ding of the bell is usually enough to bring them to the table, but if not, a second ding will certainly do the trick. Hitting the large striker with your palm is very satisfying and the pitch and resonance of the bell is perfect to cut through noise, and hangs in the air. This bell would be perfect for commanding attention in a store, restaurant or home and I highly recommend it.

So my papillon wouldn’t tell me when he wanted out instead he would just hide.My Pomeranian would and still does walk around the table over and over till I let her out. I was persistent in teachin my papillon pup to ring the bell if he wants to pee and now I hear ding ding often. Even if I pick it up and place it on the bench he will rear up on the bench and ring it anyways lolWorks great as a dog doorbell.

I was diagnosed with COVID the day after Thanksgiving. Thought boredom was going to drive me CRAZY during home quarantine. That night, my brother and I were on the phone discussing Pavlov's dogs and I thought "I wonder if I could teach my cat to ring a bell for treats?" This little baby arrived a few days after purchase and I got to work. Within a few days, my screaming demon of a cat could ring the bell with prompting. Needless to say, it was fun to regale my coworkers with stories of training the bloated seal of a house cat and they're amused that he can now do it without prompting.The bell is really good quality for the price. The sound is very clear and crisp. It's made of metal and plastic (the base). Definitely kept me entertained!
