Good heavy digging/tamping bar. Haven't used it yet as my wife and I will be building our log home this summer 2011. Think it will work great for tamping posts into their holes, digging out rocks, and moving logs.

Good quality very heavy so it cuts through hard clay and dry soils easily. It will also make custom post holes easier to dig by allowing the ability to make the hole wider as you get to the base.

I was hoping with Seymour's history and their tool manufacturing presence in the US that this was truly was a quality USA product (origin: USA is what it says in the description). Sadly, this is forged in India and like the other reviewers have noted, is not top quality. I have purchased similar bars from import tool outfits (at about 1/2 the price) and found them to be lacking as well.It is 6' long, the bar is 1" in diameter and it does weigh in at 17 pounds but it is NOT made in the USA. Save your money and buy from someone who at least admits that they import their tools.

This digging bar is made of a soft steel that bends very easily, it does not spring back either, it just stays permanently bent. I’m 5’9 140 lbs and I bent the heck out of this bar prying on a small stump. Really disappointed in the quality of the steel.

product was as described. Will be used to help dig for new fence.

Hard metal, sharp blade. Used to break out small tree stumps by chopping the stump legs, then digging under and levering the stumps up. The bar flexes under my 200+ pounds but I don't over press it; it takes extra time and levering, but the bar is still straight as an arrow.

Good for digging/cutting, but when used as a prybar / lever, it bends fairly easily -- and, unlike other reviews have said, it doesn't snap back... it STAYS bent.
