Nice reel for the price can't complain to much but as I seem to be the only one that actually bought the reel an didn't get it free an I fly fishing often I see only 2 flaws 1: if the drag is tightend there is a point that the one way barring has about a 1/2 inch of back travel 2: if filled with the proper amount of line backing + fly line then the line will over fill an can cause it to bind up this beeing said if you just use about 80-90 yards of backing that is fixed then for the drag issue just don't tighten it that far I couldn't see you needing 10+ lb of drag for anything you would catch on this but for the $37 it's perfect that's why I give it a 5* build is nice drag works well an the build is amazing for the price thanks for reading an hope my review helps

This is really a nice reel, especially for the price. Very happy with it. Came with instructions to change retrieve. I think I'll be buying another one!

This large arbor reel is nicer than I expected at its price point. The 3 5/8" diameter reel is light at 4.3 ounces. The drag is smooth and its effective adjustment range occurs over roughly a half turn of the drag knob. The large arbor is representative of today's contemporary reel designs, providing a fast line take-up rate. I really like the smooth and audible clicker which operates in both the outgoing and retrieve directions. The reel is made from aluminum castings which are economical, but less attractive and jewel-like than more expensive machined reels. Tolerances are quite good, and the spool spins true with minimal runout for a budget priced reel. If you are looking for a budget priced reel that feels good, sounds good and performs good, this one is worth your consideration.

I am living this reel. It is sleek looking, which is a nice bonus. The reel functions very smooth and very quiet. The reel fit my 9 foot 5wt rod . The rod feels like it is good quality and seems like it will last a long time. I am very happy with this reel overall and highly recommend it.

This is a great value fly reel. It is lightweight, but very sturdy. At this price point, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was wrong. The reel operation is smooth and the finish looks great. Swapping the reel orientation is a breeze. Only takes a few seconds. Push the button on the side, remove the plastic cover, remove the cylinder, turn it around, then put it all back together. Can’t wait to get out on the water with this reel.

I like the simple functional design of this reel - open to air dry my line, wide spool base to keep the line less tightly curved - and a drag control too.Instructions are included for switching between right and left hand retrieve (the drag only operates in one direction - which is nice).I reeled in a few medium sized fish with it during my testing session, and it worked well (if a bit slower than a spin caster might - a run towards you might require hand stripping line!!!).Price seems fair enough.

Nice feel to the reel, looks very futuristic, larger in design and it's cool that you'll be able to see the color of line. Overall smoother than my 30 year old "old faithful" reel. I look forward to trying it at the river.
