If you have pets and kids in and out this is the vacuum you need! Easy to set up. Nice size and sturdy! Functions simply without a lot of extra fluff! The attachments are nice and if you have stairs, they work perfectly to get the job done! It has strong suction and cleaning power! I had no idea how much dog hair, dust and dirt were on my carpeted stairs! Nice long cord too! I was able to do my staircase from one outlet. I recommend spending a little extra on this vs some of the other cheaper household vacs. You won’t regret it at all!

This vacuum is the best I have ever had. The different types of floor settings, ease of push/pull, great suction power, easy to clean, pick up speed, portability, and attachments are all great design features. With four fur friends, this vacuum takes care of the pet hair! The value has already paid for itself. Love this cleaning tool!!

My honest review of this version. FYI: I LOVE vacuuming and have a few.CONS: (Compared to the older version):1.) *The power pet tool handheld brush tool does NOT work well. It is not motorized like the older discontinued version. It is powered by the suction, but once it has resistance, it stops rotating...The older version is powerful and truly motorized. Thank god I kept it! You should be able to purchase it online and it should work bc mine does. Having a motorized version makes all the difference.2.) The cord is 25ft. (same as older version) but for some reason, I am not able to reach the same spots in rooms like I could before....more stopping/starting to change outlets. Might have to get a tape measurer out ...3.) The design feels slightly cheaper... more plastic parts.4.) The older version came with more tools that they have since discontinued.. but I think you can still purchase on here.5.) The vacuum is light... so when using the hose or lift-away, the unit topples over...so that can be annoying.6.) First use = some slight burning smell.. but I think its "new machine" smell. Will come back and edit this after some time.I am thinking I will keep my older model and just replace the hose (that did crack near the base) ...Pros:I am an odd person and LOVE vacuuming. I vacuum daily. I have used my older model daily for about 9 years..1.) The BRUSH HEAD and powerful suction!I have both a Dyson cordless and this Shark.I was happy to find this model bc the newer Sharks are terrible w the plastic "fins"... esp if you have carpet.2.) The lights are amazing and even have lights when you use the attachments.3.) The brush head stops when you use the attachments4.) The brush head stops when you use the pull out canister5.) The lift away ... awesome!6.) The propulsion.. When the brush head is on... you hardly have to push the vacuum. It becomes so easy and light to vacuum. IMO Fun..7.) It maneuvers easily... but does not lay flat, but you can use the "liftaway" and it then can go under furniture easily.8.) I can keep going but I am biased.I think I should be a vacuum blogger... I know eventually I will have to invest in a Miele but I despise the canister versions. ... We shall see.... anyway-- back to this one... if you never had the older version, I feel bad for you, but this version is def. a win esp if you get it on sale. I just wish the made the cord longer, brought back a REAL motorized attachment and other tools. for Reference, it's 7.22.24 and I just unpacked it and ran it through my place and it worked as expected but does feel a little "cheaper" compared to it's older version. We shall see how it fairs in my new home which is 3 floors of newer carpet.... I might replace the cord with a longer version... A corded vacuum will always outperform a cordless and it did suck up a lot of cat hair and dirt that was left over from my Dyson vacuuming done yesterday. So that's always enjoyable to see.I will def keep it. .... So now I have 3 vacuums...I esp. love the washable filters, it helps to extend the life of them, but they are easy to replace.I am someone who takes apart (within reason) the parts of the vacuum and cleans it, and its easy to do to prolong the life of the machine.lmk if you want any questions answered as I LOVE VACUUMING...Thanks for reading

This is my second Shark and I love it. My older Shark is about 25 years old and it got used 3 to 4 times a week. It's been through dog and cat hair. Still works, but is getting moved to the basement. I don't want to carry it up and down the stairs anymore. This new Shark is awesome. I just vacuumed with the old Shark the day before my new one arrived and the amount of pet hair that it picked up is incredible. I have two cats now. I love the light on it. It's so easily to use and the suction is fantastic. I only wish it had a longer cord, which isn't really a big deal since it does a great job.

I am where vacuums go to die. With 4 dogs and 5 cats, living on a mountain farm, I kill vacuums on a regular basis. I've managed to take out everything from an old Kirby to a new Dyson & everything in between. Even the ones designed for pet hair didn't last long. Then I got a shark navigator. It was true love! It was like having a Catholic priest come in on a regular basis to perform an exorcism on my carpets. For years, me & my Shark performed miracles in my home, proclaiming from my mountain top... THIS HOUSE IS CLEAN! Then we moved. I allowed a stranger to take my beloved Shark and haul it 2600 miles. By the time it arrived, it was too late. I founded it shoved behind a pile of boxes, hidden by the movers until after they left. It was literally in pieces, it's hoses and cords shredded and pulled from thier sockets. The handle snapped off at the neck, there was no chance of resurrection. I couldn't imagine what kind of torture my poor loyal side kick had endured, and was in doubt I would ever know such admiration for a household appliance again.I started the quest for a new vacuum, of course I knew it would be impossible to find such perfection again. Each year the new models get cheaper in parts while more expensive in price. After days of exhaustive searching... thinking perhaps I could find a remanufactured version of my old pal, I gave up. It was time to admit I had to buy something different. Still, my Navigator had been so wonderful, and I hadn't found anything on the market that seemed better so I ordered a newer model, and set my heart to disappointment. Certainly I would never find another who could make my heart pitter pat like that again! My new Shark arrived and I pulled it from the box. It was pretty, shiny, and a lovely color. I assembled the parts easily, hearing the click as each locked in place. It had a good weight to it, though I felt a bit like betraying a loved one as I tucked it into the closet... not yet ready to actually turn it on for a test run.The puppy took advantage of my distraction, as cable & internet providers came and went. The pup shredded anything he found tempting that had already been unpacked, including packing material. Little Styrofoam pieces and bits of a silk flower arrangement littered a bedroom floor. A calendar lying on top of a box would no longer adorn our wall. And fluffy bits of golden retriever dotted the carpet where he had rolled and played during his destructive frolic. I cleaned up what i could by hand and then instinctively reached in the closet for my Shark. It was not my dear, loyal soldier that heeded my call for assistance. No, there was a new soldier at the ready and it was time to see if it could handle the job. I plugged it in, and turned it on.The Shark came to life, illuminated with the power surging through it. With a light touch, the new machine moved as though floating over the floor, and followed my directions as though reading my mind. The shredded debris was instantly gone, nothing missed, no second pass needed. It was so efficient we were done before I knew it. I popped out the tank, emptied it and slipped it back in with ease. I rewrapped the cord and rolled the vacuum back to the closet. As I tucked it in to its spot I gave it a quick pat and whispered, "That'll do Shark. That'll do."It had done its duty well, with no hesitation or complaints. My old friend was laid to rest, and a new one had come to fill the hole in my heart & my closet. My dogs & cats fur would not be allowed to over run my home. I had a new champion that promised to fight the good fight. All that remains to be seen is how long it will last.A s we all lived happily ever after.

I waited until I used the vacuum for a couple of months before posting a review to see how the shark would hold up.I had a Dyson for 10 years and it finally broke - did my research to find an affordable strong vacuum that I could replace it with. I thought the Dyson was the best out there but WOW I was wrong, I wish I had this Shark to begin with!Super easy to assemble, it's not heavy and the cannister empties from both sides, the top half will catch large objects like Lego etc. which makes it so easy to clean out and recover accidentally sucked-up large items from! The self-powered head caught me off guard and it came right out to of my hand & went zoom lol!The vacuum itself is lightweight and easy to handle, especially if you're using the lift away featureVery impressed with the suction power - simply and thoughtfully engineered I love everything about it.Picks up pet hair you didn't know was even there (if this vacuum can handle husky floof it can handle anything lol) and it picks up my very long human hair easily too.The head is easy to take apart and clean (I have to do it every 4-5th time I vacuum which is gross but it shows how good this is picking hair up)My carpets look so good now and I am really happy with my purchase, I'm still shocked how much dust bunnies and dirt get into the carpet, especially after thinking my Dyson was getting it allThe wand and main head have lights which is awesome I can see what I'm doing vacuuming in corners and see the dirt and crumbs and dust bunnies on my hardwood :)Only cons: I have many stairs in my house and it can be a little awkward managing the cannister + hose + cord but I'm getting used to it, wishing the cord was another 3-4 feet longer. My carpets are about 20 years old so the brush head bounces around in some high traffic areas where the carpet is matted down - I just slow vacuum and try not to go against the carpet 'grain' too much... Not the Shark's fault I should probably get my carpets cleaned or replaced ;)
