I had a veeeeeery dirty stone tile floor. I am embarrassed to admit that I neglected it for several months even while our dogs came in and out, we walked on it all the time, dropped things on it, etc... we would just wipe up obvious spills and leave it at that. Now that my son is about to start crawling, I thought we'd better get in gear and get the floor properly clean. I ordered this mop based on the infomercial and the amazon reviews. Today I used it for the first time, and while there is still some staining of the grout, the floor is squeaky clean after just 2 passes with this mop. It's very lightweight, easy to push, and even though it doesn't leave the floor totally dry right away, one end of the kitchen was definitely dry by the time I had reached the other end. So it pretty much works as advertised, surprisingly enough :-) It's easy to assemble-- I didn't even look at the directions because it was so intuitive. Please do read the directions on the operation, though-- it's not hard at all, but it is good to learn that you should let the mop warm up for about a minute then pump the handle about a dozen times before beginning to mop. Once you're mopping, also be sure to move the mop back and forth frequently (like you would a vacuum cleaner) so that you keep on getting a good amount of steam coming out. The other benefit of moving it back and forth is the added scrubbing, so it's not like the effort (which is very little) is for nothing. The microfiber pad does in fact pick up and trap all the dirt. You have to vacuum first to pick up bits of grass or rocks or other pieces of things (you'd do this prepping for a regular mop anyway) but after that this mop just cuts through any and all residue and dirt that is built-up on the floor. It didn't push the dirt around-- it wiped it away. I'll be mopping much more often now that I've found a tool that works so well with so little effort!

These pads are fantastic. I have the shark steam cleaner with all the pads that come with it, but wanted the purple cleaning pads. I did not know what the difference would be, but the purple pads are larger microfibers on the pad and scrub alot more than the other pads that come with the machine. Thank you. I love these pads. Great addition to all the pads that come with the machine.

I wanted to get this for the shark, hoping that it would be a little more 'grip' to get any stuck on items. It doesn't do that. I'm not really sure what the advantage of this type of cleaning pad is, but it seems to work okay on tile floors. I did have to go over the areas a few times because you can see the streaks left by the knobbies, which makes it appear that it's not cleaning the full area. Fine product, but have ended up sticking with the regular white pads.

These purple pads are definitely better than the white ones that came with the Shark Steam cleaner. The white ones left horrible streaks that made the floor look bad. These purple pads leave no streaks and the floor shines like I want it to. The price through Amazon is much better than what is charged in the stores. I am very happy with this purchase.

Not like the original that came with my steamer. The big microfiber mops leave streaks on my tile and hardwood floors. Can't find the kind that came with it anywhere.

work great at cleaning really dirty floors. They scrub better than the other pads. They will leave streaks though, so I usually switch out and use them for my floors if I've waited a week. They bleach well, no color change.

When I originally purchased my Shark Steam Mop, two steam duster cleaning pads were included. That was a couple years ago and it was time to replace those original duster cleaning pads. I researched the options on Amazon.com and decided on this choice. I thought it was the best option as it pictured the original Shark packaging and also listed the "4 sides of cleaning" that is an attribute of the Shark branded duster cleaning pads. (Other options I came across neither showed original packaging or had the 4 sides of cleaning..... in other words, they were knock-offs.)However, when I received this product, it was packaged in a sealed plain plastic bag - not Shark packaging - and did not include those 4 cleaning sides. It was clearly not the same quality product I had purchased from Shark in the past. I felt that this in fact was a knock-off and had been poorly represented.I contacted Amazon and they offered me a refund if I returned the product. I did and my money was refunded. I would not recommend this product if you want a true Shark Steam Duster Cleaning Pad.
