I needed a new shutoff valve for my washer dryer supply hookups. Shark Bites are perfect for do it yourselfers or if you’re in a hurry. Buy the orange tool. Mark your depth and push it on. That simple. I was able to hook up a new washer dryer and I’m washing clothes without leaks again. Worked so easily I added shut-offs to all my vanities and toilets. Highly recommend shark bites.

we just moved into an older house. the washer hookups were badly corroded, but since we just moved, we didn't have a ton of extra money to hire someone to fix them right away. watched some tutorials online, came across a video of someone installing sharkbite valves, and bought them along with a pipe cutter and a tool to smooth out the burrs. i was kind of skeptical of this being so easy, because it seemed too good to be true, but it worked out great and i was done in less than half an hour!a couple tips i saw from the videos i watched before installing:- keep the valves in the bags they come in until you're ready to put them on the pipe. if debris gets into the valve before it's installed, it might not seal properly, or could cause issues down the line.- make sure you smooth out the burrs (sharp edges left on the pipe where you cut)! otherwise the burrs can cut the seal and ruin it. for people who have experience with this kind of thing that sounds like a no-brainer, but this was my first time doing anything like this, and i'm glad it was stressed a lot to me.
