This doesn't look like a well engineered cutter. I cut first a channel larger than the shank size measured just above the cutter's flutes so there was no drag there. Started cutting in on a 6061 block as a trial before the actual cut on the important piece. 5 of the 8 flutes broke not more than 1/2" in on the cut. Considering that I need to make two 8" long dovetails this isn't good. I may try one more otherwise I'll need to go with a sturdier cutter in carbide with less flutes but more beefy in the area around the flutes.

We bought two and they broke right away. I wonder if it's actually HSS...
