This CNMG tool holder from Shars is the cat's meow for the home machinist. I've been happy with Shars products and this is no exception. I installed this on my lathe and proceeded to take .200" cuts with ease in steel and left a great finish on the material. I've seen several people using CNMG inserts and I'm glad I was able to try them without spending toolroom money on the holders. I'm a hobbyist, not a job shop or production facility so big name expensive tooling is out of my budget. Shars to the rescue with quality tooling that remains affordable for the small guy. So far this tool holder is working well. I really like the insert that comes with it. I was turning some 4" 304SS with it and it performed very well and had a great surface finish.
