Easy setup and it plays nice with Home Assistant! I love that it can be used completely on my local network out of the box. The web-based config page allows it to be used even with out a smart home "hub" or Shelly's cloud app. Oh and I find the power monitoring feature to very handy! Highly recommend!

I love this product. First heard about this from a Raspberry Pi internet monitoring setup where the author also monitored the power consumption of his satellite gear with a Shelly plug. I grabbed one and installed it on the pump for my 25,000 gal swimming pool. Pump pulls 989W consistently, well within Shelly's limits. I can now monitor the power consumption from a Pi and detect things like a burst hose or low water level based on feedback from the pump. I can also turn the pump on and off remotely which makes vacuuming by myself a breeze. I have bypassed the old mechanical time switch my dad mounted on the wall when I was a kid and now I schedule the pump operating hours in the Shelly app. I love this product and will be buying a few more! Very capable and has a whole slew of communication options including wifi, bluetooth, websocket. and MQTT. Impressive device in a tiny little package!

I thought it was just going to allow me to turn on/off the outlet remotely. But it does SO much more. (Things I didn't expect.)- It shows the real-time power usage (V and A). Great for determining how much power a UPS, power strip, or individual device is using.- It includes a counter for tracking Watt-hours. (You can reset the counter for measuring over a specific period.)- Built-in timer and supports scripts for doing really customized tasks. (E.g., if the following conditions are met, then turn on or off the outlet. For example, I can have it query my digital thermostat and turn on a fan.)The best part: while it can be used with cloud services (Siri, Alexa, Google Home, etc.), those are OPTIONAL. I use it offline as part of my local office network.Building something like this from scratch (e.g., esp32, voltmeter, ammeter, power relay, etc.) would cost way more than this little device, and it wouldn't have as nice of a user interface. My only wish? I wish they had a two-outlet version.

I have 4 of these that switch our 12V landscape transformers and they fit easily inside the standard metal box without obstructing the door. They connected easily to the IOT WiFi network, and a few rounds of firmware updates have gone well. The settings panels have enough configuration that I could make it play nicely and also shut off some features I did not feel comfortable with.I use Home Assistant from a RBP to control all of them and it works great. The HA integration is solid and worked right away. These will be my go-to switches.

I previously had purchased a Shelly Plus 2PM and verified that the line voltage, current and energy reported via the API, web-socket and web page were within 3% of actual values. The results were quite impressive, so I decided to purchase the "Shelly Plus Plug US" (this device) anticipating similar performance. However using 60W incandescent light bulb (resistive) as the load, the API and web reported the line voltage at ~130V (actual on a meter was 118.6V). Also via the Shelly API, the line current was 0.547A (actual meter reading 0.480A). The API reported power was proportionally higher as well, 71W vs 57W actual. The first thing I did before running the above tests was to update the firmware on the device. That process turns out to be very simple via the devices own web page. From a previous review, I read that after the update you would need to reset it, but that was not necessary. While the ad indicates it has a temperature sensor, you can't actually use it to read ambient air temperature since the sensor is enclosed inside the unit. It reads the internal temperature of the device which for me was 116ËšF.I believe that the Shelly Plus Plug US must be a 1st generation product, where the Plus 2PM is 2nd generation unit. However Shelly does not currently offer a 2nd generation plug.So would I purchase this again - Yes I would. Aside from readings that are too high which were disappointing, there are a number positives for why I like this product.1) It has an extensive API library which allows you to manage, configure and use the device for home automation.2) If you can't use the API, it has its own web page which essentially does all the main things you want.3) You can set up Schedules and Timers on the device via the web page. For example, say you only wanted the device to turn off in 15 minutes or you wanted automatically turn it back on after 2-hours later or both, you can do this by setting a timer. With scheduling, you can set up specific turn-On and turn-off times for specific days of the week. Multiple schedules can be created.4) The device uses WiFi instead of proprietary protocols like other devices.5) It works well with Habitat. I easily added shelly devices to mine after installing the Shelly Plus Plus" driver.6) A cloud account is not required to function on your home network. I did not sign up for an account nor download the android app to my phone. However if you need access to devices while away from home, you might need to consider a shelly cloud account unless you already have world access to your network via habitat, home assistant or some other home automation application.Overall the Shelly product line looks very good, especially their 2nd gen devices.

Advertised as 100'-160' range when used with wifi. We get about 15 feet instead. After that, the wifi connection drops or is so extremely slow, that the web-interface page barely displays. Maybe we just got a defective one. It was on sale for $15 instead of the regular $22 price, either way, this 1 is being sent back. I'll try the Sonoff S31 instead for only $7-$12 each.

El aparato funciona excelente! Te permite no solo controlar de manera remota y programar el encendido y apagado de los aparatos conectados al enchufe, si no que también te mide el consumo eléctrico que se genera a través de el
