Nov 25, 2023. Gave this a full 5 stars because this machine rocks! Its not as pretty and fine as my Atlas but boy does this baby crank out clay for hours. I use 2 machines on my table now and only the Shule goes back and forth to my weekly class. I love it.One thing, it's thickest setting is about a 2 or 3 on the Atlas so you have to plan to that issue if you use the widest Atlas setting a lot. Still noisy but I put in my earbuds when I'm using this in my home studio.Tentative 4 stars for now. I bought the electric shule as a machine for my classroom since hand cranking is painful. The best thing about this machine-it doesn't need to be clamped to the table and it doesn't move around like I thought it would. It's loud, the rollers sound scratchy but in my 6 hour 1 day test the motor didn't heat up like my atlas and there were no black oil marks. I used only white for my test but I have 8 students in my classes so we will see how it holds up. I will update in a month with more details. The machine with the metallic motor is my atlas 180.

I have been doing pasta/potstickers for ages. My regular attachment is KitchenAid, but it gets too heavy to move around. I also have three Italian manual pasta machines - but manual operating after 2-3 hours becomes hard. I have started looking for a cheap pasta machine with a motor and found this one. When I got it today and unpacked it, I realized there were a couple of issues with the motor design. First of all, the motor (see the picture) is sticking too far in front and gets in the way of operating the machine. Second, the ravioli attachment is far from perfect - it is too small. It is much easier to do it using ravioli forms. Finally, on its smallest thickness, it is not thin enough to my taste (compared to old-fashioned manual Atlas or KitchenAid). There is an alternative model on Amazon with a different motor placement, without ravioli attachment, which I am going to try.P.S. As a manual mode, without the motor, the machine is fine but kind of flimsy. I would get something more solid (Italian-made).

How did i not know how easy it was to make one's own pasta before? We now use this regularly. It's quite difficult to clean, but i'm not sure how important that is. It feels rather cheaply made, but it hasn't broken on me yet - that said, i don't think we're expecting it to become a family heriloom that's passed down from generation to generation. We find ourselves using it mostly to make ravioli - the ravioli attachement it came with is essentially useless - it works, but you get super tiny ravilolis. Instead, we're just sheeting out flat sheets and making much larger ravioli's manually - which i think may be easier than using the attachment.

With many possible choices of pasta machines, the price of this machine got my attention when considering to try out one of the machines for making my own wholewheat pasta. I have been very pleased with the results and find this machine far better than I expected. I rated the durability 5 of 5 due to the feel and overall construction, and time alone will tell if this is an accurate rating. This machine has made pasta making fun and much quicker than hand-made. The clamp holds very well and the machine is solid and stable while working with it. Follow the clear directions and you will enjoy the experience as I have.

Besides the fact the manual is useless, the motor didn't even work. Unfortunately I have 2 bad shoulders, s a hand cranking one is out of the question. Nor do I have a KitchenAid mixer to use one of those pasta making attachments. This was my only option. But due to getting a number of other things that didn't work and having to return, I will not be ordering anything electronic anymore. I'm sick and tired of it.
