The output level of the A15TG is approximately -42 db. This allows it to be used with either microphone level or line level inputs and the barrel design allows it to be connected to a microphone cable or directly to a mixer input.

Great for API 512c preamp that doesn’t have an output control. I stick mine on the output to converter and now can use DI boxes better. On my API512C I noticed just because it hits red doesn’t mean clipping! This is the go to for API 512c preamps! I just set it at the lowest option and was good enough to turn up and hit no louder than -12 to -6 or so. I wasn’t able to turn my API up more than 9 o’clock before this. Now I can go noon or more for the mojo of that preamp.

Acts as a high pass filter, just like it says on the box.

Aknowledging that the result of you vocal recording will be the sum of all elements in the chain:Performer -> microphone -> Preamp -> coloration and modulation Effects. This high pass filter is one element that will play in your favor, when achieving the perfect vocal take.Live scenario:Reduction of plossives and low end rumble/ambient noise. while using any dynamic microphone of your preference.Recording Studio scenario:By cutting the low end (below 100hz) you might hit higher gains on your preamp without clipping (improving S/N Ratios), also with less low end content your compressors will react better to the vocals . Finally, if you are recording to a DAW, you will make more efficient use of your available bit depth, by cutting that useless low end (on vocals) from the beginning.

Very good item, totally solved the RFI problem i had of my radio signal getting into my mic cable. I’m ordering a second one for the output of my channel strip to insure there’s a clean signal going into the radio….bottom line, it worked for me!

This Shure model is well built and does the job… however, -40 db is too much for my line-to-mic application. I was hooking a dbx 286s mic processor line out into the mic in of my Arrakis mixing console. -30 db is just about exactly right. I had to order another brand for that. I kept this one though, just in case I have a need for it. I would have paid the extra for the Shure brand, but they didn’t have a -30 db on AmazonAdditional… I found a small input adjust on the console I am using this device with, adjusted that slightly, and the 40db down is now about right.

Work as intended. Greatly improved my sound quality for streaming. The audio sent to me was way too HOT! This greatly reduced audio levels that was perfect for streaming!

Last November I had unexpected RF interference right in the middle of church service. I have been doing sound / video in this church for several years, and this is the first time this issue cropped up. Turns out there was a crew clearing land not too far away, and apparently they have hot-rodded their CB sets. There were only two mics which were sensitive to the RFI, out of seven total I have in use during service. After installing these RFI filters, and not hearing anything for weeks I thought ahah, problem solved. Well last Sunday, it’s back, however bleed thru of the interference is greatly reduced due to the filters to a level that is unnoticeable while someone is speaking at mics, but just audible when mic channel is open, but no input from speaking, for example. So, just Mute the channel. Short story, these in fact do attenuate RFI, not eliminate it. At least the RFI is not anywhere near the objectionable level it was previously. Just a side note, for two cents worth, the mics that are very sensitive to the RFI are Samson (CM-20?) gooseneck mics. I have since ordered a couple of Shure CVG-18B gooseneck mics, they claim internal shielding for RFI, so we shall see!

This is the best in line mic pad. minus 15, 20 or 25 db with a positive switch

very useful device if your running from your own mixer and stage speaker set up and you want to run a line into the house mixer and speakers for additional set up and volume this is ideal it has 3 different db settings via a mini toddle switch this prevents your mixer line out from overloading the house mixer input preventing overload and distortion its not cheap but worth having in your cable box

Lo compre por que uno de mis micros sonaba demasiado fuerte y no traia pad pero al poner el adaptador si suena mas despacio pero distorsionado y conste que ya lo probe con muchos micros.
