All these weird comments about them being heavy. That's exactly why I bought them. They feel great on my head and the sound is clear and loud. As far as the weight thing is concerned, I'm not sure why it's a "complaint"...it's not like they weigh 45 pounds and your neck is tired, they're headphones, they sit on your head and you listen to music. I am using them for DJ'ing and they're fabulous!! Well worth the money.

I was looking for good quality studio quality headphones. I have the Shure earbuds and they have lasted many years with no real issues and have great sound quality so I decided to purchase these and see how it went. I wasn’t disappointed. Very comfortable and sturdy construction. The sound quality is crisp and detailed. The chord length is 10 feet so you won’t have any issue with length. The size can fit any head I would assume with many adjustments available. Would recommend.

Summary of my experience: These are great headphones for someone who wants great sound without much hassle. They are clean, powerful, comfortable, and sturdy. They will satisfy your needs in movies, music, video-games no problem - and will work fine with computer, TV, or mp3 player. Sure - you can do better, but not under $400, and unless you are very experience with audiophile equipment, the difference won't be worth it to you either. Now, in detail:I bought these for my girlfriend, since she before this just used a pair of earbuds that came with her iPod. I was looking for something that would deliver good sound across the range, clear detail, and reasonable soundstage. Also - had to be closed for use away from home.My personal experience is rather far-reaching - I heard almost every single model from Grado, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, AKG, Stax, Ultrasone, Audiotechnica. I heard some of the Bose models - but they were not even close to the same level, and Skullcandy just sounds plain bad. Most equipment is very polarized - it tends to be great with some genres/records, and horrendous with others. Other equipment - like Sennheiser HD650 can be phenomenal if you can put $2-3000 of equipment behind it. And all of this is not practical if you want one headphone to solve all your problems, and do so for reasonable amount of money. If you were a home listener, HD600 or Beyer DT880 would do, but they are open.Shure SRH840 solves this problem elegantly though: it is closed and foldable, and its sound provides uniform experience across all uses. Bass is strong but not overbearing (unlike say Bose), midrange is present, although slighly recessed. Treble is clear but not too sharp (so it isn't painful). The sound is not perfectly balanced, but really good nevertheless. Impact is great on sound effects in movies and games - and the sound is directional so you can feel immersed in the experience. They get loud on computer soundcards and TVs, and they get plenty of volume out of my mp3 player (iAudio 9).In addition - replaceable cable, which is great, because that is the part that typically breaks on all headphones. These will last you a long time.

Sound:These headphones are advertised as having a very flat frequency response, and that couldn't be more true. Many people complain about the "lack of bass", but theirs a big difference between mudding up the rest of the sound spectrum with bass and being able to handle low end, and these do the later perfectly. Compared to more bass heavy cans, these might sound less punchy to you, but it's because there is absolutely no artificial bass. If you play a song that truly is extremely bass heavy, the low end comes through beautifully. The highs sound very crisp (as does the overall sound), but the mids is where these really shine. Vocals come through unbelievably, and guitar and other instruments are impressive. Every song from rap to classical sounds great through these, I couldn't say this enough. And at 44 ohms, these are fairly easy to power and sound decent out of an mp3 player. 10/10Design/features:The SRH840's come with a leather carrying pouch, 1/4" threaded adapter, a detachable 9.8 foot coiled cable, and extra ear pads. These all feel very quality, and do their job just fine. On to the actual headphone. I've heard many complaints about comfort for these, and I can see where people are coming from, but they're definitely not uncomfortable. The bottom of the ear cup has a pressure point, as does the top center of the headband. These can be both fixed by a headband mod and earcup sock mod both found on head-fi, but just stock these can be quite comfy if you get used to them, let them adjust, and find the best way to put them on your head. The noise isolation is also quite good. Now the features. The detachable cord is very nice, and has a solid twist-lock thingy to attach it to the actual headphone which is a nice touch. The headphone does have exposed wires on the sides, but it's really not that big of a deal. These are giant headphones, and obviously not designed to be taken around with you all day or worn around. Overall, 8/10Wrapping up here, I couldn't recommend these enough. The value is amazing, the company's trusted, and these are simply great. If your worried about sound quality of these over the m50's, I would personally take these any day. I've extensively listened to both and these feel a little more crisp and accurate for monitoring. If you just want a really fun music listening headphone, take the m50. I apologize for any spelling/grammar issues, I'm posting this in my phone.

I'm fairly new to high quality headphones, so take this review with that in mind.I am coming from the Sennheiser HD 598SR's as my main daily drivers, and I also own a pair of WH-XM3's and these headphones I would say are better than both of them. I'm realizing I personally prefer closed-back to open-back, as the 598's are open-back, and these are of course closed-back.To put it more into words, I'm finding the SRH840's to be extremely well balanced, and crisp. I feel like I could hear an ant fart while a nuke is going off. I hear all frequencies far better than I've ever experienced before with any other headphone, and listening to anything right now is an absolute joy. Gunshots in movies startle me with how loud they are - despite never experiencing this before with any other headphone. While I'm also noticing minute and small details in music I've been listening to, like faint notes or whispers in the background that I've never noticed before. If I encounter build issues I may update this review accordingly, so for now, just on sound alone, these are an easy 5 star. The best headphones I've personally ever owned.

Tengo el mismo modelo de audífonos pero de la generación anterior, sin embargo quería un par extra, este nuevo modelo es menos pesado y en mi opinión el sonido tambien es mejor.

I’m a ceo and a professional mentor. This headset is just right for critical listening and direct monitoring.I use it with both Rode podcast mic & Shure MV7.Satisfactory product for direct monitoring and critical listening (my review is not for singing purposes; the review is for for lectures and consultations such as for zoom meetings).
