Works well for painting, but I also used it to sand between deck boards. I took velcro backed sandpaper (round discs) and bent and cut it to fit the paint pad. Additional adhesive-backed velcro can also be attached to the pad. Saved my knees and back when cleaning mold/algae from between deck boards.

I read some complaints about this tool being useless and I couldn't understand why. I have a deck 20' x 15' and painted the entire area between the planks with one brush and the pad is still intact. I used a take out container to hold my stain that was a perfect size. The only issue I can imagine is if the deck was constructed incorrectly with the planks installed without enough gape spacing between each plank. If the planks aren't spaced properly, don't purchase this product-it won't work for you. This tool was a breeze for me to use on my deck. I think it actually took about 3.5 hours to complete my entire deck. I'm very pleased and I didn't need to purchase any additional pads! Great tool and inexpensive too!

I bought two of these. The first one was excellent, got the job done. When I went to use the second one (brand new, just taken out of package) the threading to attach it to a handle was missing, and I the size of my deck means I can't paint the boards on my hands and knees.

This is a great tool to stain or paint between deck slots. This was so much better than being down on my hands and knees with a brush as I was able to stand and do the work
