Bought this for a very old typewriter. I could not believe the change in the visibility of the lettering. I had no clue that just a ribbon change could make the typing so much easier to read. Thought I was stuck with blah faded typing for the life of the typewriter. But upon installing this cartridge, the typing was crisp and very easy to see. Shipping was plenty fast, no problems at all. And price is more than worth it. Thank you for a truly great product!

Let me set some expectations. If you imagine that type from your thrift store electric typewriter is going to be as smooth and even as laser print, it's not. They never were. If you're expecting a nylon ribbon/ink type cartridge to produce type as smooth as the disposable carbon film cartridges that succeeded them, it won't. They never were.If, however, you're looking for a new cartridge to make a 50 year old un-restored thrift store survivor (Coronamatic super 12, in my case) produce neat, fully inked type despite 50 years of platen hardening and machinery in desperate need of cleaning and lubricating, this cartridge *can* do that.I'd happily buy another from this vendor, in the extremely unlikely event that I ever wear this cartridge out.

For starters, I am not this product only deserves a 3 star rating. We bought it for an older typewriter my wife uses and when it arrived, my wife opened in and installed it into the typewriter. The end of it snapped and it was useless. I can't be sure if the ribbon was faulty or if my wife installed it wrong. I will be ordering another one.
