I had to get several of these devices in different sizes, because the national electrical code changed and most places use it as the basis for their local codes. In essence, the code now says that neutrals and grounds must be electrically isolated in subpanels. In the main panel they still connect to the same bar. I am doing some work that requires inspection, and so I have to bring everything up to code. It happens that I have several subpanels with varying numbers of connectors, so I needed a bunch of these. It works fine. Put it in the box and move all the neutrals to the new, isolated bar. As usual, if you don't have the knowledge and experience to do this safely, hire a professional!

I used this as a stand alone additional neutral buss in a sub panel. As you know, in sub panels the neutral and grounds are supposed to be electrically separated. If you double up breakers in their spaces, sometimes there are not enough neutral spaces provided in the box for the additional neutral wires added. This allows you to mount the additional buss directly to the sub box because it’s insulated and doesn’t connect electrically to ground and isolates the neutral. I just run a solid #4 copper wire from the provided neutral buss to this new stand alone and isolated from ground neutral buss and you have an additional 9 spaces for neutral circuit wires.

If you need an insulated neutral bar to keep grounds separate, like for a subpanel in the same building, this is the one to get. Even included an insulated pad to go underneath.

Works well. I actually cut all of these in half to use as two smaller bus bars for a project and worked out nicely.
