The kit contains (2) Sierra 18-5156 Contact Sets and (2) Sierra 18-5199 Condensers. The kit is interchangeable with GLM 72810 and Johnson/Evinrude Outboard 0172522. Each Sierra product meets or exceeds the original equipment part it replaces. Fit specific, check part numbers to ensure proper fit.

Haven't fired it up, but installed this kit on my 1957 Evinrude Fastwin 18HP, and everything matched existing parts, though we suspect the coils were replaced, so maybe the points too? Anyway, quality seems good, nothing out of appearing spec. Be very careful with the two kinds of small clips shipped (as you must assemble the pcs, kit does not ship assembled), because they can sproing a good distance if you're not rather careful. Oh, and you'll need to use the existing screws if possible or get new, bracket screws do not come included in kit (worked fine for me).Edit: my engine ran great once I got it to the lake

They're better quality than Johnson/Evinrude's points. I just put a new set of the Johnson/Evinrude points in my 1957 model 5.5 hp Evinrude and they would not adjust and the points did not line up. I could bend the metal with my thumb. I removed them and installed the Sierra points. These Sierra points are not made of material any thicker but at least they line up and they will adjust.

I have a 71 Evinrude 9.5hp (9122R) fits great and motor runs like a dream again. I do recomend changing the spark plugs, and spark plug leads aswell. Keeps everything running like a top!
