Designed solely for the field, the Sightmark Core HX Riflescope Series has been crafted to offer versatility to the modern hunter. The Core HX series of optics allows hunters to confidently prepare for the season ahead by providing the right reticle styles and features to match any pursuit.
Core HX 4-16x44AOVHR Venison Hunter Riflescope
Designed specifically for the whitetail deer hunter, the Sightmark Core HX 4-16x44AO VHR Venison Hunter Riflescope has been crafted to offer versatility in the field. This reliable 4-16 magnification riflescope is equipped with a 44mm adjustable objective lens for parallax removal and a range-finding BDC reticle that works with a variety of hunting calibers. The 4-16x44AO VHR is constructed from a single piece of durable aircraft-grade aluminum to withstand the most punishing conditions and is shockproof, fogproof, and waterproof.
Diopter Adjustment
The Sightmark Core HX riflescope’s eyepiece is designed to rotate to adjust for diopter. The diopter is the measurement of the eye’s curvature. People’s eyes are all curved differently. If the reticle does not appear clear, crisp, nor sharp, rotate the eyepiece until the reticle becomes clear and sharp. This adjustment should stay the same unless the riflescope’s operator changes.
Windage and Elevation Adjustment
The Sightmark Core HX riflescopes come with pre-installed turret caps to protect the windage and elevation adjustments from impacts. The Sightmark Core HX riflescopes have finger adjustable elevation and windage adjustments with audible clicks. Each scope has it’s MOA click value marked on the adjustment. For example, a ¼ MOA click means each click moves the point of impact .25” at 100 yards. 1 MOA of movement would require 4 clicks
VHR Hog Hunter Reticle
The Sightmark Core HX 3-9x40VHR, 4-16x44AO VHR, and 6-24x50AO VHR riflescopes are equipped with the VHR Venison Hunter Reticle. The duplex design was created to coincide with the average shoulder height of whitetail deer, allowing for ranging of your target. The reticle’s holdovers were designed for a variety of hunting calibers for hunting whitetail deer. Finally, the fine duplex design provides a .1 MOA central aiming crosshair at the highest magnification, critical for precise aiming at long ranges.
Ranging with the VHR reticle
The VHR reticle is designed to estimate the range of adult white tail deer based on the average shoulder height of the deer. Ranging is simple by matching the shoulder height of the deer inside the vertical brackets of the duplex reticle. The following images show approximately the size ratio for the distance for each mark. For the most accurate range estimation, using a laser range finder is recommended.

Harvested a doe down a 250 foot ravine. Scope rode back up in the sled with the deer over dozens of fallen trees, knocking off stumps and rocks. Went to re-zero before the next hunt assuming it was going to be way off and to my surprise it was right on the money. Not a high dollar scope by any means but if you need a beater scope on a deer/hog rifle you can’t do better price wise. Only gripe is the magnification adjustment is stiff and eye box isn’t great but for $100 it punches above its weight.

eye relief is decent. clarity and brightness good.but the focus ring is at the far end of the scope and very touchy. my previous scope didn't require focus adjustment other than the eyepiece for fine focus. for this one you have to adjust the objective lens every time you glass a different range.

Wow. Work just like described. Once sighted in this scope was dead on at all of the yardage crosshairs. It is a deadly combo on my Ruger .450 Bushmaster. Thanks for as great product.

I own 2 of these for the 350L glass quality is similar to my $350 dollar vortex.So far i am happy with them both I will update if I have any issues moving forward.

This is the ONLY Sightmark Optic I have returned due to quality, the glass isn’t that great and somewhat dull from 3-9 but tracked and held zero perfectly. The build quality is excellent minus the clarity. The reticle is simple and very nice to pick up but the glass is what kills it for me. I have the Citadel and several rapid AR Optics and have used the Presidio Series and all have stellar crystal clear glass and long eye relief with a huge eye box on all. The HX just fell short for my eyes. The Sightmark CS I will say is some of best and nicest in the industry. This Scope will work well for hunting.

These crosshairs and rangefinder dots are so fine they are not practacle for actual field use. They are so thin that I could not see them unless it was a white background. Not worth the money.
