I generally love kitchen tools made of silicone. This worked really well for rolling sushi. It also washes easily. The only thing that would make it perfect for me is if it was dishwasher safe as well. It is food safe. However, it says that it is not dishwasher safe. I didn't want to risk it so I'm washing it my hand. There is silicone that can withstand the high heat of dishwashers so I guess this is made from a different food grade silicone.

As a novice sushi chef, this is a really handy device for getting a nice tight and even-looking sushi roll. I'm pretty happy with it! I didn't post pictures of the end-results because I butchered my roll when I attempted to slice it. (tomato knife probably works best for that, in hindsight)One downside, the product page emphasizes "dishwasher safe", but the box clearly reads "not dishwasher safe" and "may be deformed by heat". I guess I'm taking the box's word for it over the product page, and will hand-wash this.

I make sushi at home and decided to buy this sushi roll mat. Great investment! Makes my rolls faster and easier to roll. Once used, it is super easy to clean and wash off. No hassles! Love this product!
