Product Description

Simpson Strong Tie Roofing Tile and Slating nails Annular Ring Shank Type 304 Stainless Steel are available in Copper Aluminum and Stainless Steel. The large flat head provides extra bearing surface to firmly secure roofing material. The annular ring shank increases pull-out resistance to provide a secure attachment to wood members and plywood roof decks. For slate roofs determine the correct nail length by doubling the slate thickness and adding one inch. The longer lengths are ideal for installing curved Spanish roof tiles and thicker slate. Aluminum nails are also available with a screw shank.

Finding these nails on Amazon was not easy.I had used the 1 1/2 inch versions on the main roof surface but needed 2 inch for the ridge. Eventually found these by guessing at manufacturers part number

I used these stainless nails to attach some 1/2" cement board in a shower area and they worked well. They were somewhat sensitive to bending at the halfway point if not struck exactly right. I found them to be better that screws for places where the fastener needed to be very close to the cement panel edge to hit a stud. I pre-drilled the holes and they went in perfectly, whereas pre-drilled screws would usually crack the cement board.
